Default 5.3L in a 67 chevy pu Exhaust help!

I just droped a 5.3L with a 4L60E in my 67 P/U. Anyone know what manifolds would work? The ones I have are off a 99 1500. The right manifold hits the frame.

I would say look into some of the headers available. I'm sure you could find something that would fit. S&P sells headers designed for older Monte Carlos/Chevelles ... and the frames in those are pretty similar to those of an early pickup. They just might work.

Otherwise, just look into where they hit and take a loot at the different Manifolds available (Camaro, Vette, GTO) and see if those would give you the clearance you need. You can mix and match them without any real problems.

How did you do your motor mounts? The reason I ask is when I was trial fitting my LS1 with Hooker long tubes they hit the part of the mount that goes from the frame to the front crossmember using the LS1 to SBC adapters. More clearly stated, the headers were hitting the mounts but were well clear of the frame. There may of been an issue with the location of the O2 bungs as the sensors may have been close to hitting the frame. Also which set of holes on the frame are you using?

I've got a couple of sets of Corvette manifolds (just pay shipping), if you'd like to try that option.

Use Corvette manifolds. I am/was also trying this conversion. I bought a set of Corvette manifolds (98 I believe) and they seem to clear the mounts and frame just fine. The only problem I have with these is that they have EGR ports or something on them that I'll have to block off.

JoeyGC5, I'd be interested in a set if they don't have those EGR ports on them..

They've got the ports, but I can make some block off plates pretty quick. Want stainless, alum, or mild steel?

I did a ls1 in a 72 chevy pickup and installed it with FLP longtubes and they fit perfect
