Default Turbo LSx s10 guys what to do for manifolds

Are there any manifolds that will work or am I going to have to build something. I have heard the steering shaft hits the drivers side when trying to run the upside down truck manifolds

Any advice or pics would be great. I am thinking a 76 mm on the pass side

I haven't got to my Project yet but I plan on using flipped 5 gen Camaro manifolds

But any manifolds will have to be chopped up to work, log style header or a header kit would be the easiest as far as fab work

FYI, the stock ZL1 manifolds are stainless.

mine don't have a turbo and its got headers but I had the same problems with my headers. so i had to make my own steering shaft. used the stock steering box and 3 u joints and a heim joint to support it. its got a u- joint behind the firewall.

well my buddy came over today thats helping with the turbo setup and he had the idea of buying a set of shorties and using them to make my kit.

thake the drivers side down like normal and take the crossover back by the trans and then cut the pass side up and make a log

Yea that would work or u can use the tubular style manifolds off a 98 Camaros to chop up to use, guess which ever is cheaper or easier to get

That works but the biggest problem is how to run your downpipe . Doing it that way to get a downpipe between the frame and trans you most likely have to cut the floor board. I was going to do mine that way but decided to make log manifolds with a crossover in the front .

That would have made for better flow characteristics, plus shortened the main log some because you could have blended the last pipe into the merge or down tube. Not to mention it would have opened up the back of the engine for air to flow out easier..

I agree the prob could have been done better . on the drivers side it would have been to hard if not impossible to change the plugs if the tubes faced forward more . the rear tube on the drivers side is made like the pass so it flows in to the main log . I started with a better flowing design and it was such a pain in the *** for fitment i did it this way . . If i didnt want to keep my ac there would have been a lot more room on the pass side to , drivers side with the master cyl and steering stuff not so much room still

people are making way more HP than i am shooting for with a log design so i went with this . Im shooting for 600 rwhp hoping more towards 650 with meth injection

OK. Well best of luck to you on the build and don't forget, header wrap will keep the heat in and the turbo spooled.. It is a pain to get right, but when you do, it is worth the effort. I am NA on my engine and even I have considered it...

Something about losing a fingerprint one day that had me thinking really hard about it.

Just curious, but had you given any consideration to a remote turbo setup? Twins or a single in the bed? I wanted to do that but my budget just wont allow for it at present. Or anytime in the near future either.

Thanks bud , its been a longer process than i originally wanted it to be but im doing a much better and much stronger build

My build started as wanting a bed mounted setup but it snowballed into what is is now lol . most rear mount builds ive seen they tend to sell it off and put the turbo up front . so i figured id skip the rear mount setup and put it where it belongs lol

Headers are wrapped now

looks good, not a fan of mig welding manifolds/headers. I used hooker smooth ls swap manifolds and vband them.
