I thought about the 3000 scoop and looked into a few others, but I don't want to modify the Thomas Denner bonnet due to it's rarity... I think I'm going to just send the engine through the hood for now and cut the hood around it, then at a later date down the road, I'll go through the task of cutting the tunnel, steering frame etc to get it under the hood.

Heres the shifter in action, click on the pic, it's a movie

It's a copy of the hurst lightning rods, kilduf on eBay made it for me, I got him to cut the rods down to 10 inches total length. I'm very pleased with it, though I haven't actually used it yet

I'm just kinda getting stuff together and test fitting right now. I plan on getting quite a bit done over the next few weeks to include painting the car. heres the new radiator and fans, it's a dewitts notched radiator and it's badass with huge fans... shouldn't have any issues keeping the car cool. The tranny cooler will get mounted under the oil pan with a fan on it to make room for the heat exchanger for the supercharger to go on the front of the radiator. The water tank that comes with the maggie setup wouldn't really work so I got a different tank that I'll mount in the trunk. Got to fab up an alternator bracket, with alot of help from John, it'll go on the driver side. Thinking of a couple of filter ideas, gotta get the hood on with the throttle body and just see what fits best I guess. Coil packs will get relocated under the dash.

I am gonna toss in my half a cent worth of suggestion and say skip the supercharger.

That engine will make PLENTY of power without it. Enough to kill you and anyone with you. Fun is knowing when deadly is staring you in the face, and you have the guts to not poke it with a stick.

Thanks, I'm basically building the car with stuff I've got from other projects. Car had about 300 rwhp before and was insanely fun. I'm not the first person to put a supercharged v8 into a sprite, there's a hemi one running around. thanks for the input.

Got the car torn down yesterday and started addressing the problem areas. Got a lot of the car blocked already, cut part of the hood but still got to add metal back in the back and cut some more off of the front. Old Austin Healey grill will be up front, but so far I love the look, it's totally a sleeper car!!!!! Got a good friend in town helping with the body work. I'll post up todays progress later on.

Perfect, that barely sticks out of the hood! Sleeper for sure...

Nice progress. Keep it up!

yeah, the side profile pic really shows how hard it would be to even get a stock intake turned backwards to fit. It would have to go way back into the firewall and drop to the ground

cut the front of the hood and moved it to fill in the space in the back behind the supercharger, also gave me room to turn the elbow down off of the throttle body... got a lot of options on the filter so we'll see what we come up with, oddly enough the car will be a daily driver so I'd prefer to not keep it up in the elements like rain, etc... already have to spin the scoop around on the Camaro when I drive it in the rain.

Freakin' cooler than Mad Max! At my age I'd be afraid to drive it, but 30 years ago...

If you ever want a ride let me know, I enjoy this car 10 times more than my Camaro.

That's a full size Healey.... Big size difference compared to the sprite.i could fit a regular intake under the hood if I sacrificed alot of comfort in the driver/passenger compartment by moving the engine way back and dropping it to the ground. The oil pan sits level with the bottom of the frame and I'd need to go several inches below it... Still, that car is very nice.

I LOVE IT! The supercharger puts it over the top for the win. I can't wait to see this wild thing on the road.

Got a lot done today, just finished up, it's in the 20's outside... too damn cold to be outside, much less painting... got a few spots to clean up and fix and still have to repair the hood and paint it but it's coming along nicely. still have to clear it out also.
a few teaser pics

I'm impressed! Not only working outside when it's below 50°, but doing it all in a carport to boot!
