Any idea what specifically turned out to be wrong? Was it the harness or computer? Both of them?

Calling bs on this one. Starting to think this thread was just a string along to promote harness and PCM programming company.

+1. Sounds more like you fixed the problem but never found the problem. Obviously, it was some undiagnosed issue within the harness or computer.

At any rate, congrats; and I'm glad to read you didn't switch to a carb

first off we found that one of the ground circuits in the wiring harness was not working causing all sorts of fucked up issues, I will let my buddy tell the whole story as he has lots of detail info for you guys i dont wanan spoil all the fun.. lol

anyways went with a reputiable business AKA HOWELL EFI Harnesses and boom hooked it all up the exact same way and it fired up and idled 650rpm first try no codes, no weird runtime issues.

Default Frustrated with same issue

Sorry for beating an old, dead horse here but do you know what the problem actually was? I have a 72 C10 with a 2004 DBW 5.3. Pretty much identical issues. No idle unless vacuum line is disconnected. No codes and otherwise seems to run ok. Engine is stock, new injectors, clean throttle body, new MAF and new O2 sensors. I actually went to the length of welding a nut on my pedal to use a bolt as idle adjustment. I have a new PSI harness and have spent the last 2 months messing with this idle issue. Greatly appreciate if anyone could shed some light on this issue...before i push it off a cliff.
