Default Header ideas

Does anyone have any suggestions for headers that will fit? I have a 63 Biscayne (Impala) with a Schwartz Performance chassis. Schwartz has headers that will fit but, they are pricey.

That shaft really messes up your choices. Id remove it and try some generics, 3rd (swap) or 4th gen headers, then add an extra joint or two in the steering shaft

I think shortys will work but, was wanting a long style for the performance gains.

I think Pocket was on the right track.
The stainless headers speed engineering is selling here are about your best deal for the money . Same 98 to 02 f-body design used in many engine swaps.
I'd fit headers first & modify the steering shaft. You could add another joint & a carrier bearing with frame mount to hold it in place. This and/or part of the headers be redone to slip fit back together around the shaft.
In a true header builder's words, build the car around the headers.
LS engines prefer long tubes, why settle.

Thanks for the tip on Speed Engineering. I'll send them an email and see what they come up with.

I contacted Holley customer service to see if they could make any recommendations...I would had a better response sending an email to my dog.

The response times on email follow-up through the Techservice department can lag considerable due to request volume Renegade6. I am personally a member here and post on this and other forums quite regularly regarding Hooker/Holley products (especially the new stuff like what we are currently releasing for 1st-gens)and field plenty of PM inquiries through my message box also. I focus much of my effort on our new releases since the fitment and compatibility details are not yet part of the common knowlege base of the Techservice crew. Here's a few pics for you to look at (1-7/8" primary headers into 3" collectors and 3" exhaust system). On to your car...we unfortunately do not currently offer any B-Body LS swap headers currently and I don't have any knowlege that any of our other LS swap headers, such as these for the 1st-gen F-body shown will fit either. I appologize for the slow response through Techservice.

A great option to save a few bucks for guys who can fab/TIG would be to pick up our "Header Builder Kit" which include the following:

(2) 3/8" thick Laser cut flanges (engine to be specified by customer)
(12) J-bends with one 6" long leg & one 12" long leg
(2) 3.500" dia. outlet formed collectors
(2) filler diamonds to connect the tubes together

*We recommend the use of 308L SS welding rod

Way cool kit. When I have a need for stainless I know where to go.

I told him last year to buy their headers or build his own. I guess he didn't like the answers he received in the thread he started last year so he had to start a new one to see if the answers magically changed two months later.

Thanks for reminding me about my other post...Had I listened to you and I wouldn't have had any other ideas...And as many new products that are coming out, it looks like there are other options.

You are a classy guy. I'll make sure I consult you first for any of my other needs.
