Presumably this is part of the rev-matching system. I can't tell from the picture, does the sensor sit somewhere around the shift rail?
Also, do you see any reason why the E92 can't be used on Gen IV engines?

Hard to say how well the E92 would work on a Gen IV engine. Conceivably it should work since both are 58X but I'm sure there are differences in injector timing strategies and other things. The E92 controls both wires to the injector, so you would have to separate the power feed wires out and hook them to ignition 12 volts. Who knows what else may be different, it's just too soon to tell.
