You would be surprised how small of a hole you can get away with in the firewall. I Used the rubber grommets from McMaster Carr and slide through one ecu connector at a time from the engine compartment into the car. I then mounted the ecu behind a new glove box that fabricated. Not sure if it is possible on the chevelle as mine is a 69 camaro. I just made a cardboard template of the new glovebox first. Here is the link to my post.
