Not much to show. Crazy busy with the header/exhaust fab. This is about all I've done lately. Media blasted everything but the body panels and then epoxy primed. Don't want the new chassis going to **** while it sits.

Here's some from today Andrew. Bolting on the front sheet metal so I can build a tubular rad support and eliminate the factory one. I need the space for the hot side! Who knew empty beer cases had so many uses!!

Well I have burnt myself out working on other peoples projects while ignoring my own. I have finally told people I'm taking a break and working on my own junk for a while. So I have built a tubular rad core support to eliminate the factory 65 core support. You can see the factory one in the pics above. This includes the bumper mounts, so now I have a lot more space for my hotside, rad, and intercooler set ups. I just set the motor an trans in for the first time yesterday. Now I need to build a tubular trans crossmember, and then I'll start on the turbo mount and hot side plumbing. Here's a pic of the headers I built for the 34 ford w/ the Camaro LSA transplant pictured above.

The rad, A2W intercooler and trans cooler have arrived. Starting to try and find space for everything and its a huge challenge in these space limited cars. I have ditched the factory core support/bumper mounts and built a tubular version to free up some space. I finished the turbo mount and now will start on the intercooler/rad/trans cooler mounts today. After those are fitted, I'll order the stainless material for the hot side build. Oye......321 stainless is expensive!! Uhhhh. I also received the new steering column, steering wheel and parts for the steering shaft. I also managed to build an alternator mount to put it where I need it (manifold clearance) and get the accessory drive completed.

Got in another solid day yesterday. The rad is completely mounted. The turbo is completely mounted. Now I need to fit the intercooler in there. The turbo placement was based on using a cast, tight radius aluminum elbow making the direction change from the turbo, into the bottom of the intercooler. The BOV will be mounted in the pipe between the turbo and the intercooler inlet. Todays goal is to have the intercooler mounted by the end of the day. Oh, and I have to squeeze the trans cooler in between the rad and the grill too! We'll see how that works out.

Got the cold side fab work completed today. Got the intercooler mounts completed. Machined the 3/4 water inlets off and spun up some new 1" inlets and welded them on. Then cut the inlet and outlets off the intercooler and fab'd the inlets and outlets from 3 1/2 tight radius aluminum bends. Only 2 flex couplers required for the entire cold side, and one is the transition from 3 1/2" to 4" at the throttle body. Just have the trans cooler left to mount, and then will be ordering material for the hotside build on Monday.

Well I finish welded the hotside tonight. I just have the two waste gates to find a home for and fab. That's not going to be easy. Good news is the 4" down pipe sits higher than the front crossmember, so good ground clearance, and the front wheels clear turning lock to lock.

Hehe..........no. I am a tool and die guy by day and do custom exhaust and header fab for other people in my spare time...........which doesn't leave much time for building my Chevy II. These are actually posts from my build thread on YB and I had forgotten I started a thread over here, so I just copied and pasted my updates from YB.

3 of them actually. A JD2 style, a hydraulic tubing draw type (up to 1 1/2") and a huth exhaust bender.

At home I have a miller 252 mig and a Lincoln 175 pro tig. My tig is max'd out if I try to tig any aluminum heavier than 1/8, so if I need to weld heavier alum, I'll tack it at home and then take it with me to work the next day and use our 375 squarewave to finish.........and if I play my cards right, get paid to weld my own stuff!

Ha. Figures as much. VERY nice build. The attention to detail you put into your build shows you have the skill to build an injection mold. My trade as well from the engineering side. Are you in the Midwest? I do a lot of business in Michigan and Canada.
