Default 88 formula fiero+Ls1

I just picked up a 88 fiero that already had a 4.6 Northstar swapped in it, Which I already got a z06 kill in the first day i got it . but there is no aftermarket for the northsatr and i want more i wanna be able to stomp on 11second z28's. So has a ls1 swap been done before or will i be the first if i infact do it? btw the fiero with the northstar is a 7 second car in the eith the previous owner said

Yes, it's been done. Don't remember details but do a search and you can probably find the guys posts. I am pretty sure he had a website with a lot of good pictures.

Since there isn't much of an aftermarket for the northstar, why don't you be the pioneer. After all, you don't see a fiero every day with a northstar in it, much less a v-8. Go to some cadillac boards and poke around. There is bound to be some kind of mods.

Yeah, I would do what you could with the Northstar and make the most of that setup as it should be a very solid package. Going to an LS1 would take an awful lot of time and money and engineering as I don't know of a transaxle that would stand up to it very long.

But definitely post up some pics and more details on the Fiero as it does sound killer and it would seem that you got a very good deal on it as I wouldn't doubt that just the conversion cost $6k! Good luck with it!

Oh, and what version of the Northstar is in it? The 275HP or the 300HP version?

personally, if you are so into putting a LS1 into a Fiero, why do it with a car that has already been converted with a unique, powerful motor?
seems like a waste to me
wouldn't it be EZ'r and cheaper to start with a stock 88?

they make a supercharger for the northstar, its hard to find and kinda expensive but it works well. do a search on on caddie's and you'll find it. i did a search a while ago when i was thinking on buying an eldo.

Loyde at www.fastfieros.com is working on the conversion (mid-year or so). Spend some money, go fast! He's swapping an LS1 stroker into my 2001 Grand prix right now (same package). Since the popular conversion is the SC 3800 6 at 375 hp, my 360 crank hp 3800 is prime for a swap into the Fiero. The 4T65E-HD transaxle (GM W-body) can be built for up to 675 crank hp - www.intenseracing.com -. www.DomesticPerformance.com also has a version. The claim 500+ crank hp.

Loyde is one straight-up guy. Good luck.

Default ls1

nice sounding car an '88 with a N*
i would love to have a car like that... that is my ultimate goal.
would love to see some pics of the car.

Loyde of fastfieros, has another site www.ls1swap.com which deals with ls1 swaps in fieros and other cars. i think someone on there has a ls1 swap into a fiero.

http://alansfiero.ls1swap.com/

i know for sure on www.fiero.nl there is someone (ls1swap) on there who has done this swap.

you should sell the N* car and start fresh with an ls1 fiero. hint...hint...

thomas...

It will be two years this august for me.... It is a blast to drive, but to beat the fbodies you are going to need a built auto. I don't think the manuals are strong enough. I don't race mine but if I had to guess I would say somewhere in the twelve's. I run the stock five speed. My tires break loose before I break any parts, but mine are not very sticky. I know a fellow fiero owner with a built zz4 that has gone though 5 axles in 3 years.
