WOW! This is going to be one righteous ride when your finish. And I second
that in regards to Leadfoot85's comment about having some serious chassis
envy right now.
Do you plan to keep the outsides looking just the way it is now for a real
sleeper look or more like a show vehicle?

Going to keep a stock outward appearance
Stock color is called spring green.
It will be the stock color or black with dark blue
overlay to give a bluish tint color to the black
Interior will be stock also unless trans tunnel mods
are required to clear 6L80E, forcing a move to bucket seats.
Plan on using Dakota VHX gauges to take full advantage of ECM information
Just put on the Holley front runner brackets. Look real good ,will add pictures later

I bought bucket seats for my 65 Skylark thinking the bench seats would not work after the trans tunnel mods. However after I was all done I think I could have retained the bench seat if I had wanted to.

Hoping for the same, really want to keep a bench seat
Buckets seats just don't fit right
As a follow up on frame, the people at Art Morrison Chassis
we're great to deal with, the sales rep I was dealing with
is Kevin Kosir . He was very knowledgable and helped me in making

power steering pressure quick update on front runner system
purchased brackets from Holley to mount a/c and generator and p/s
high on the engine to clear frame
worked out great (holley part # 20-132 & 21-1)
purchased a new 2004 corvette power steering pump
as well as the reservoir kit. All from Jegs Performance.
They will price match and free shipping , 2 big plusses
also found a pressure reducing kit for p/s pump
from Borgeson (part #899001). Was required to reduce
pump pressure for aftermarket DSE rack & pinion setup .
Seems Corvette produces ~ 1200 psi and DSE max pressure
is 1100 psi. ,going to set pump initially at 900 psi and see how it feels.
if anybody has feedback about p/s pump pressure ,would like to hear
it. pictures are with a Pontiac G8 GT p/s pump and reservoir , orientation of hose
from tank to pump would not work ,hence the purchase of the corvette pump & reservoir

Street Rodder Magazine published a book called "building a 49-54 chevy"
the car can also be seen on their online web sight
cool build with a lot of good ideas and reference.
Leadfoot what type of rack and pinion are you running
should check for max operating pressure.
excessive pressure will cause seal leaks
believe gm p/s pumps operate ~ 1200 psi
and a lot of rack pinion steering require less
believe the mustang setup is less than 1200 psi

more frame and drive train pocs added more pictures of frame and drive train
just got radiator and it fits great
not a bad deal for $199
frame going to shop next week to fit
body. plan on trimming for transmission tunnel,
tubs for rear wheels, and around front suspension
also will locate gas tank and run gas line at that time
with body sitting on frame
like the idea John 67 gave of using copper / aluminum
for a template for stainless steel,
gas line will be 3/8"
wheels are for an 06 mustang and are just to roll chassis around
like the fact that the bolt circle can be 41/2"(Ford)
or 43/4" (Chevy)
by the way the wheels and tires on the chassis now
will be for sale

Frame LOL. Thanks for the compliment but got to give art morrison enterprise most of the credit. They make a great chassis for modern day handling for these old cars.
Check their web site out.

addition to the garage thought I would post
picked up a 1952 chevy 3100 pickup
to go with the fleetline
will be upgrading to a LSX later
after fleetline project done.
will make a nice daily driver for now

Nice! We need more AD Chevys around here. I have a swap thread on my 1950 5 window but its actually more of a frame off complete rebuild. I have a full build thread on a different board. If you want some tips on what not to do I'll share all my screw ups.
