Here are pictures showing the plug at the head light connection. The new harness only has a back up light wire.

Are you sure that's a pigtail for headlights? There's way too many wires to be a headlight pigtail.

Most of us are not familiar with all of the Painless Wiring setups, as they are different for every vehicle. That's why you're getting no responses. If you're asking about stock pigtails, etc, some of us can help.

I suggest contacting Painless Wiring and asking them. You can always look at the fuse box to see what slots run the headlights and run your own wires.

It is head lights pig tail which includes turn signals and head lights. You would think somebody has done an LQ4 swap like this and used a painless harness.

That pigtail looks used. Is that part of the new Painless harness? If so, Painless should be your first call.
You mention an 01 Z28 and a 95rs. Is that what the pigtail is on? What car is this going in and what are the front end lights connected to?

Default Headlights

It's the pigtail on my 95 RS I bought a dash with cluster and harness for an 01 Z28 for interior upgrade. Under the hood is a painless wiring harness red and blue connectors, lq4 and PCM mounted on BMR kmember, ls2 intake with CBM throttle body adaptor spacer to utilize the truck cable throttle body on the car intake.

My guess, the Painless harness is motor only, completely independent of the front lights. The dash harness is pre 98 LS type and that's your pigtail. The later headlight is different. You'll need to find the wiring diagrams and set it up yourself. Or pay someone. No simple plug and play for this.

Use the plug from the factory harness, cut it back a few inches and BAM, you now have a pig tail.

Honestly, this is a 30 minute fix for someone who knows what they're doing.
Do you have schematics from the dash harness and from the car it's going in?

Not easy to do long distance.
I would suggest you search for the dash harness schematics (light switch, etc) and the front end of the car you have in the f body forums. I doubt these have much of an LS component tied directly to them.

Is there a separate wiring harness for the headlights?
