Default 2011 Tahoe 5.3 (LMG) with LS1 heads???

Hey all!!! Noob here with questions about a hybrid build... So I have the 5.3 (LMG) engine with the 799 heads. I have intake/LT Headers/Exhaust, however its my DD and I canʻt have it down for more than a weekend so I picked up a pair of 241s from a Vette... They will be ported, polished and matched and put in with a Compcam 214/224 115lsa... I need to know what valves will work for these heads and which gaskets to get. I am also going to be porting my intake and TB... How does this sound to everyone??? Any thoughts would be much appreciated!!! Thanks!!!

Standard 241 / LS1 valves, spings and retainers should work. Since you are using an aftermarket cam, suggest you follow Compcams recommendation on spring.. most likey the 918's should work. Should be a nice power combo.
Though I am not sure the port and polish will be to much help.. as you most likely may not get into the RPM range where it of be of any benefit.. (5k+ ?) Very offen. For a truck.. torque and mid-range is key.

but let us kniw how well it tunes out.

Thanks for your input!!! Yeah, Iʻm trying to get more low end torque and better throttle response... They said that the cam they suggested will definitely give me more low end but I thought I would also port and polish these 241s while Iʻm in there...

Will the port and polish help at all? What about porting my intake and TB?

going to revive this just to say, this is a dumb idea, 799 heads are better than 241 heads

^^^I would talk to Lloyd Elliot. Find a set of $50 core 862s. Let Lloyd port them, install 2.00 intake valves in them and use the double spring kit he offers. They will wipe the floor with 241s or 799 because of the increased compression ratio.

The 862's have more compression. Texas Speed did mine with 2.02 intake valves and 1.57 exhaust with their CNC port work, Outstanding heads.. Same valve size as 799-243 and more compression.
