Yeah, I'll be building a flat bed with fold down sides. I hope to get started on that this coming week end.

Looks awesome! You could out do mator on cars by making up a tow body for this beast. If you had 3/4 ton or 1 ton suspension I would love it with semi super singles on it. Could do some chrome stacks on her.

So it's on the road now as my daily driver. Still a few things to finish (the bed) but I drove it up to Virginia, about 900 miles round trip, this past week end and this thing runs great. 18 MPG. Gotta love these modern power trains. Proof it happened.

A guy at end of my street does rat rod and street rod stuff out of his garage built this using an 80's square body C30 with a 454/400. He drives the hell out of it... pretty sweet seeing stuff like this on the street.

Sweet. All it needs now is some Centerline California smoothies and a wood bed.

Funny you should mention the bed issue, guess what this week ends project is. Still don't have a clue as to what wheels I will go with. For the next 4000 miles, which will be a road trip coming, I will run what I have but I am open to suggestions.

lots of choices since you have late 6 bolt chevy. I would run little wider truckish on back tho. Whats the color choice on outside red as well?

Actually, for the foreseeable future you are looking at the outside paint color. I hate body work almost as much as I hate someone else working on my stuff. As for the ride, it rides as you would expect a 2003 Silverado to ride. It may be a little to low and I get a little tire rub at full lock but other then that no bottoming out or stiff ride or any other issues. Except for the cool factor and sitting a bit higher and lower then most trucks it's kind of a boring drive, now that being said, the cool factor is off the chart and I can't stop anywhere with 1 or 2 guys coming over to chat about it.

You did good Rob. If height bothers change out springs a bit. Moving motor tranny back on frame had to make it ride better than stock silverado you started with.

Keep the paint as is! I am looking for a new project right now and that is one of the requirements, a good patina.

Those wheels look like the ones on my Tahoe.
