OK, so for the most part my build is complete so I figured it was time for a real road test. Was it worth the conversion to the modern drive train? 4K miles in 1 month @18 MPG, cool factor 100%

Man that is soooo coool. I actually came to check the conversions section to look for updates on this. Wow. Awesome. To me the first bit would feel weird driving it. At least thats how it looks with being a COE and all.

Hows the comfort on long trips?

I've considered driving my 84 C-10 SB on powertour this year, but not sure how well im gonna handle a bench seat regular cab driving 300-400 miles a day...

I'd say a 7 out of 10, I use a center console on the seat with a nice padded arm rest, I also have arm rests on both doors. Mine has the center cowl and side vents so I can get as much air flow as I need, granted it may be warm air at times but keeping the air moving helps for sure. I also have cruise control, a must for any vehicle for long trips. As for the ride, it's the same as you would expect on a late model truck, boring.

Finally swapped out the wheels on the COE, more period correct for sure, also just clipper over 10K miles. Man, this conversion has worked out very well.

How are you racking up so many miles? Are you doing deliveries?

Glad to see it fits a parking spot. My kids love riding in my L92 swapped '51 F1. I think they'd like yours better!

Great job. Love the new wheels.

How about some pics of your electronic shifter mechanism in the dash?

For the high miles question, 65 miles per day for work, 2 road trips and a lot of trips looking at boats in GA. I just love driving this thing.
How about these for the shifter. It's a 12V linear actuator operated by a momentary 2 position toggle switch. I now have a light showing OD or drive and will add 1 for reverse. It auto stops in park (end of stroke).

Love this build, Doing something very similar. Curious, Looks like you used an extended cab Silverado, was it Longbed too? WB sure looks longer than my DD Silverado which is shortbed extended cab.

No, it was the standard short bed extended cab. The flat bed was extended 10 inches to give me a 12 foot bed and make it look more proportional. It looks longer due to the cab being so short. You building a COE of just a mid-engine?
