Well major update!! I worked on this thing all day yesterday. Piped in the Corvette fuel filter/regulator in the stock location. Modified heater core lines and installed. Steam vents all ran. Radiator and fans installed. Installed o2 sensors. Then I called it quits at 1am last night when I broke the starter solenoid bolt. Picked up a new starter this morning and went back at it and came up with this.
I picked it up from eBay a while back. It is a Autometer and it included the adapter to work with the fuel rail. It also included a brass elbow but I decided not to use that.
Well I finally finished up the front suspension and brakes and have been driving it around. Have a couple issues with the car and wouldn't of known till I drove it. First off the speedometer is way off. It only reads half of what I am actually going. Say it says I am going 40mph when I am actually doing 80mph. I think the computer is looking for a automatic vss signal. The tuner knew i had T-56 so i dont know what the deal is with that. Also when I shift it always grinds 3rd and 4th. The rest of the gears are fine. I fear that the 3rd and 4th synchronizers are going bad. Really pissed because I overpaid for that transmission.
Sux about the trans man but at least your on the road!
Yeah I am going to try a few things. Going to swap shifters from my brothers Ws6 which has a factory Hurst and try bleeding the clutch to see if it improves. Performance wise it seems like it pulls way harder then the Lt1. It feels like a totally different car.
Looks good man, red powdercoated K member works with the factory paint. Looks extremely clean, let alone for a 93 with that kind of mileage. Gotta love a single family car!
Well I have been driving it here and there for the past couple of weeks. The seller gave me a partial refund on the T-56. I have lost the space to be able to pull the transmission because my roommate always hogs all the space. So me and the seller worked something out. I had a issue with the car cutting off randomly and it turned out to be a loose negative battery terminal. I have the dreaded broken battery tray so the battery slides around a little bit. Going to get a new one soon. I still have to tie up some things like finish a little bit of wiring and put the interior back together. I think I am going to save a little bit of money and have Tick performance perform a rebuild on the T-56. Here are a couple random pics that I have not put up.
Here is how I connected the heater core lines. I first cut off the crimps with a dremel and the tubing was still to long so I had to shorten them with tubing cutters. Then I put a small flare on the end of the tubing to prevent the hose from sliding off.
New starter that I put in.
Removed all the worn out bushings from the control arms. Also removed the lower control arm ball joints. Installed new Energy suspension bushings and Moog lower ball joints. Also I intstalled Energy suspension sway bar end links and mount bushings. All of this really tightened up the front end. One day I will eventually do the rear.
Here is the last pic I took of under the hood. Ignore the wiring around the passenger side cowl. I still have to straighten that all out.
Also I got to show/help my younger brother how to pull out his motor and transmission on his 01 Ws6. He spun a bearing at only 59,000 miles. He has another ls1 block that he is going to use and he has quiet a bit of parts. I think he has a Ms4 cam kit, Spec clutch, Slp oil pump, and a couple of the parts going in.

Update time. Well I have been working on the car here and there. I installed new door cylinders, replaced the driver side window, installed two new window motors, modified and hooked up the cruise control cable. I also finished the interior wiring and got the clutch anticipator working and wired the cruise control so the brake and clutch pedal will disengage it. Also I installed a Derale cooler for the power steering. I was amazed that there were some bolts holding the airdam on that had the exact spacing as the cooler mounts. I got the rest of the interior pieces back in the car. And Last but not least I pulled the computer out and sent it off to get retuned by a different guy. He told me it had a automatic Silverado tune and that is why my speedo was off. He reflashed it for a manual fbody and I installed it today and now it works perfect.
Next thing on my agenda is to replace the fuel sending unit since my gas gauge does not work right. Then I need to work on installing the A/C system so I don't have to cruise around with the windows down all the time.
Nice build i have a 94 Z28, i have been really thinking about putting my 5.3 litre in it, i will be going with auto. Did you get your spedometer straighten out after? I just picked up heads for my 5.3 got the motor sitting on a engine stand for 2yrs now time to do something with it.

Yes it turned out the first guy that tuned my computer didn't know what he was doing. He flashed it for a Silverado with a automatic. I messaged him a while back and he acted like he didn't want to help. So I went with someone else and he reflashed for a Fbody with manual and adjusted it for my 3.23 gear ratio and it works perfect now.
My fuel sender was not working right before the swap. So I made a trap door and swapped out my fuel sender. And now my gauge still isn't working right and doing something way different. Need to find some time to play with it again. I think I might have a ground issue. Don't laugh at all the screws. lol
Finally got my A/C running. A little late for Summer, but oh well. I read that most people use the stock Lt1 A/C lines and just bolt them on the back of the Ls1 compressor. They then have to bend the suction line to clear the headers. Well I tried this and it didn't work for me because I am running stock manifolds and they take up more room. I ended up buying stock Fbody Ls1 lines and I cut the ends off the discharge line and suction line. I then proceeded to buy a new 45° fitting which I believe was a M20 1.5. I crimped the new fitting on the discharge hose and crimped the existing Lt1 suction line with port. The A/C now blows out cold air. Also just for reference the discharge line is 13/32" reduced barrier and the suction line is 5/8" reduced barrier.
