Believe it or not, that part was purchased as a stock replacement part from our local O'Reilly Auto Parts store. It might just be specific to the particular brand that they carry, but if you go to their website and buy that valve for a 86 Monte Carlo SS, the same part should show up at your doorstep.

That's good to know the one on my cutlass screwed into the intake and was also vaccum operated so that one should go right on.

I hope it works out to be the same part we received.

If you are using the stock style Monte R4 compressor. I have heard that the 80s Camaro hoses will work.

I think I have a set somewhere.

I don't see why you couldn't just use all of the lines and fittings for a Olds g body they had the compressor on the passenger side.

I was previously of the thinking that that's the way I would go if I was doing this swap on my personal car...and then I saw the lab tech assembling the A/C system on our Monte Carlo SS use the Aeroquip hose and reusable fittings and I was sold on that method. I think if I wanted a factory appearing system I would still go with the factory Olds parts, but for ease and speed of install the Aeroquip approach is hard to beat.

When I first tried the old hoses they were close but the compresser is clocked different now with the holley bracket and is closer to the heater box. So today I tried a new set of factory hoses I bought over the summer. They are much more pliable then the petrified ones I took off and I think with some tweaking they will work .one hose has a little holding tank on it as it comes out of the compresser ,it will be at a weird angle now so I might try to bend it up once installed. If it don't work I'm going aeroquip .I will also look into the camaro hoses Todd, thank you for taking the time to answer my questions it is much appreciated!

No problems on the info jimmyg, that's the whole point of me being here. Do you think anyone has noticed that it took more time to install your shifter then it did to get your engine, transmission and headers bolted in?

The radiator/fan combo is from C&R. You will really appreciate the quality of their work...make sure you're sitting down when you get the cost quote.

Here's a few more part numbers:

Upper radiator hose-21665
Lower radiator hose-20991
Air filter- K&N RU-2590

I was told they were "house brand" houses sourced from O'Reilly Auto Parts, so you may have to do a little snooping on their website or in one of their stores to cross-reference them to another brand.

Doing a check in on the Oil Pan 302-2 availability...no update from Summit other than a tentative 1/16 ship date. Any luck from your peeps, Todd?

Care about the oil pan prior to reinstall of the engine for obvious purposes.

Thanks,
Dave
