"A" body trunk floor solutions. All right GM "A" body guys, I am finally going to get around to making a trunk floor/fuel pump cover. I am looking for any of your ideas. This is what I have to work with.

I did consider something like that but the floor is not flat and the pump module sits up too tall. In any event I do plan to hinge the front edge. I am looking for examples of others creativity, before I settle on a plan and see a better option.

it angles up so i just tighten all screws a little at a time and I have some weatherstripping sealing it up. JOHN

Yes it is a 96 Impala SS tank with an Aeromotive 340 Stealth pump in a Dorman holder/sender.
I have been toying with the idea of making something in fiberglass that I could easily duplicate and market to others. If I go that direction my plan is to make something more contoured with a piano style hinge at the front. Otherwise it will be more like john67 has created. It just boils down to how creative I am feeling at the time.

I also used a sheet metal cover. I also made a 1"x1/8" steel frame to fit under the floor and above the cover to re-enforce the area around cover where it screws into. I then used some old bicycle inter tube to make a seal which creates a vapor seal and secures the cover very firmly.
