Default Need Help! Wiring 5th gen starter to 68 Firebird

Gonna start wiring my starter but ran into a wall. I have an 2013 L96 6.0L going into my 68 firebird. The starter only has one post- I am assuming that's where the battery positive cable goes. Now the purple plug goes where? I have a PSI conversion harness and it has two ring terminals but no plug. Do I have to get creative and splice into the harness? And if so, which line do I splice into? Is the ECM is controlling the crank when starting? Any diagrams or pics that anybody can help with? Any assistance would be helpful!!

Are you using the original Firebird starter wiring? If so I believe it is a brown wire that provides signal to the solenoid, that would be the purple wire on the LS starter. That is how I set up my car. It would appear that the 2 wires in the PSI harness go to the battery "in" side of the solenoid.

The original factory wiring should be purple. You won't use the yellow one (if it is still there).

I'm not sure if this is correct but I found this diagram from another forum. I have rear relocated battery with a ford solenoid and it looks like the purple wire (crank) that goes into the ignition has been spliced into and also goes to the solenoid in the trunk. My question still remains though, my harness from PSI has large ring terminals that are used for sbc starters not LS starters (has a weatherpack connection). Is the ECM controlling the starter?

Well either way it's done your going to need the purple wire which comes off the firewall bulkhead of the firebird and send that to the starter. Other than that have a battery positive cable hooked to the starter and a engine ground. Ecm doesn't control the starter but that new harness you have looks like it's got it's own relay in the fuseblock.

So, I sent an email to PSI conversions and Don responded immediately with the following: "The battery positive goes to the large post with no nut on it, in your picture. The cut purple wire comes from your 68 firebird ignition Key to crank the engine. The ECM does not have anything to do with the starter circuit. That comes from your chassis harness. The starter ring terminals go to the same lug as your battery cable"
Gonna follow his instructions and thanks Don for that speedy response and the rest of you for your help as well.

Why do you have a solenoid in your trunk with your rear mounted battery?
