Default HELP! 5.3L to th350 issue

I am mating a stock 5.3L to a th350 trans/torque converter. Also using a crank converter sleeve adapter. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/GM-TH3...ontent=Default

Transmission is about 1/2" from mating to the block, but the torque convert and flexplate are together so tight, cant even spin the converter freely. Help!

Is your flexplate flat or concave?

Make sure converter is fully seated in transmission and sleeve is full seated in side the crankshaft. It should work with a dished flexplate only. I'm sure you checked that it would slide over the snout of the converter before you installed the sleeve.

It appears to be a dished flexplate. Yes, the sleeve does fit over the snout of the tq converter, the other end of the sleeve fits in the center of the flexplate.

http://www.bteracing.com/Torque-Conv...tructions.html

has depth measurements for your th350. if they are good, I'd look at the sleeve. But it sounds like the converter is not fully seated in the pump or it's not the right converter. Spin the converter and push in for a few revolutions, you should feel it drop into place. sometimes they can slide forward when trying to install transmission.

Default Seat the converter

Everytime I've ever had an issue putting them together and it won't spin, or it won't pull in evenly, usually the torque converter hasn't been fully seated. I know the 4L80E I just did had 3 steps.

Do your self a favor, pull them apart one more time and spin the converter and push it down make sure it seats fully, then bolting it up will be easy.

I just had the same thing happen on my install but it wasn't converter or spacer. I was the dowel pin hole. they were .030 too small. Had casting flash on inside. Nothing a round file didn't take care of. Now slides together like butter.

I also had the dowel stop a 700R4 to LM7 install. drilled the holes slightly in the 700R4 bellhousing and it slid together beautifully.
As already said too, make 110% certain that the tc is fully seated in the transmission.
