Not much of an update, but the Cougar is back on the road. Originally I was just going to add a new terminal to the wire, but I really did not have the proper crimping tool for such a large terminal. I decided to go look at the parts store and see what they had. I found a 4 gauge ground strap that was 60" long and has nice big loop terminals on both ends. It fit perfectly, although it was a little bit of a pain to remove the old wire from the loom and add the new wire. I also discovered that my inexpensive Exide marine battery gave up the ghost. A quick trip to BatteriesPlus got me a Duracell replacement that was the same size and had the added terminals on top.

When I first got the Cougar running I used a stock tune for a 480HP LS3. It was close enough to get it fired up and driving. The Holley Dominator takes care of the base fuel table in the most often used areas. However, the get the tune better you have to really look at the areas where the auto tune doesn't hit and smooth the fuel. With a stick car it is possible to hit those areas on the fuel table where an auto trans car would never hit...
So basically I did some of that...LOL

Remember - you're talking to the guy that can't even get a video off of his phone (I'm surprised I even get one recorded in the first place!).
Since the 480HP version of the LS3 never came in any "stock"/OEM application -- what does "stock tune for a 480HP LS3" mean? What does "most often used areas" mean? When you say "auto tune" do you mean the system that does tuning for you, automatically; or the tune for an automatic transmission car? Confused....

You should hop in your cool Volvo and come to LSFest and I'll show you!
If not, I'll gladly elaborate on what I said tomorrow. Remember, I don't have a stock ECU.

Pretty sure I remembered you were running Holley - that's why I found the phrase "stock tune for a 480hp LS3" confusing - nothing under the hood is "stock"....
We're in the middle of a few weeks of moving my 88 year old MIL to a different senior community - so I'm on move duty for the next few weeks. In any event, as I age, there's little worth fighting a crowd for...I'll have to look at the pics online after the event. I'm good for one big event a year and mine is the Euro Auto Festival in Greenville SC next month.
