The problem is space. I have literally no room for an electric fan (3.5" MAX), any slim fan will have **** cfm compared to the mechanical, so I'm running a mechanical. This leaves me about 3-4" between the TB and the fan blade due to my upper radiator hose. I spent hours at oreilly's trying to find one that would fit the best. I've done a lot of odd builds/hose routes, but this is the most challenging so far. I refuse to run the rubbed hoses, they look really bad and the springs inside deteriorate.

So while I don't really want to spend like $700 on a Vic Jr setup, it would save me a lot of headache, and clean up the front of the motor substantially.

I hate those generic ribbed rubber hoses, too.
Didn't realize those engine bays were so small (short end to end).
How much is the vic jr to stock TB adaptor? Could you then run the stock injectors and rails on the victor jr manifold? (i'm guessing no) but they do make one with fuel injector ports, right?

They do, total it would likely be around $700. $300 for the Vic Jr lower, and another $300ish for the 4150 TB setup, then odds and ends.

Waiting for my SBC valve covers to dry right now

Cam is in. Need to install springs and pushrods today. Then just put it all back together.

I didn't read your entire thread, but what motor mount did you use? I used the CPP and I have way more than 3.5" up front. BTW....I'm in Austin also and have a 66 that I'm putting a 6.0 into. On mine, I run a Entropy radiator with built in dual fans. The motor isn't in at the moment.....but I can probably toss it in real quick tomorrow and snap a few pics of clearance with the radiator mounted.

Here is an old pic before the motor was tweaked and the radiator is just sitting in there. I used a radiator from a 69 Camaro because it was a tad wider and a tad shorter. I don't like the look of it sticking above the core support.

Looks good. I'm running a mechanical fan so I don't have any issues. Less wiring, better suited for towing with the 4l80e too.

I've been driving the truck around quite a bit, surprisingly the motor is still going. New one is ready to go, swapping it in next week.

Update. I've been driving it everyday. Still has 18psi oil pressure. Still has something in the tune.

The Dakota Digital BIM module took a **** today. It was really odd, it was backfeeding through the OBDII and triggering my main relay to kick on and off simultaneously, which in turn was cutting fuel pump on and off.

After the tech guys telling me that couldn't be the problem and he felt I had the the circuit overloaded (despite me telling him that It was on it's own circuit and the truck is pretty bare bones as far as circuits.

Anyway, they're sending me a new one. So no gauges for a few days. Still driving it lol.

Thats a VERY COOL C10 you have! Are you painting the whole truck or just the roof?

Truck has been "finished" for about 8 months now.

Motor makes 0psi at idle, around 18-20 at WOT.

New motor is a 40k mile gen 3 5.3 with a 224r that I built. It's about to get put in the truck in a few weeks.

Truck has Selfmadefab front wheel tubs on it now (before painting).

Pulling the bed off at the same time to put some good bedsides on it. Found out there was about 30-40lbs of bondo in each bedside. So we're going to faux patina the entire truck (it's really too beat up to paint).

Bought another swb fleet truck for the bed. Probably the most perfect original bed (unrestored) that I've ever seen. Not a drop of bondo and almost perfectly straight. Going to put my other swb fleet bed on it and resell it.

It's disassembled and I'm doing a faux patina on the entire truck to get it one color.

New bedsides, decided to paint the entire truck and do faux patina. So far it looks killer.

3 layers. Satin black, red oxide, and satin almond.

Waiting for parts to dry and starting to patina some. Getting ready to pull the drivetrain next week. New motor is ready to go!

Saved the door logos and blended them into the almond. Didn't get any pics of the finished door.
