Hooker exhaust manifolds?

Default Hooker exhaust manifolds?

Wanted to see if anyone has used the Hooker manifolds yet? I am building a 2003 S-10 and have the usual clearance issues. These manifolds seem to be the way to go, but I have not heard/seen anything about them.

Headers are not an option for this truck. It will be running a 5.3 DBC out of a '99 Suburban, #862 Heads & a shaved truck intake. Rear is a 3.42 G80. My goal is mid 20's fuel mileage

Having the rear end freshened up next week with all new bearings, seals and a gear set-up.

I used s-10 swap stuff on my Ranger. The hookers tuck tighter than the shorty swap headers. I used LS3 manifolds that I modified to tuck tighter than the hookers. Steering shaft clearance may be the only issue depending on motor mounts used.

I am using them on my 67 Cougar because clearance between the shock towers is very tight.

Default Hooker Cast Iron Headers

I used the cast iron headers with the silver ceramic coating in my 41 Chev sedan. I have the 6.0 engine from a 2011 Silverado along with a 6L80 transmission. The headers work well and look good. You can find dimensions for them by Googling "hooker cast iron headers" and choosing the Jegs website.
The passenger side header is quite close to the starter solenoid but with some heat shielding on the solenoid I have not had any trouble starting even when very hot in southern California.

Would these headers restrict flow more than a set of tubular shorty headers?

Maybe...but LS engines don't seem to be too sensitive to exhaust, so the HP loss is probably minimal.
