For headers, check out Hotrodlane.cc, they make them for the b-bodys but I think fbody or gto headers might fit. Hell look into the truck headers made by JBA, theyre shorties with 1.75" primaries iirc.
I'm broke cant afford any other headers less i sell mine I'm really low on my budget i was thinking a 1200 dollar idiot steering column. idk I'm really trying to figure this out

Not sure how you attempted the linkage but you need to remove the factory crossbar linkage to get the aftermarket to work. It goes from the column directly to the splined shaft on the trans.

the tranny is fine. I'm just having trouble getting the shift linkage to actually shfit into gears i have 2 lokar kits but they both are for aftermark steering columns and the other one is bend and cut to fit and I've gone threw like 4 or 5 of them.. might take it to the shop and have them custom make me a shift linkage bracket maybe.. what u think?

I'm not following you. I have a column shifted trans using the Kugel kit and all I had to do was shorten the rod with headers or manifolds. Like I asked in the previous post, are you going directly the the trans shifter or do you still have the factory crossbar shifter linkage? If yes like it shows in your pictures, get rid of the crossbar and go directly to the linkage on the trans.

Even though my 68 looks just like your firewall in the pic the dimensions may be different. My first inclination when installing the shift rod was to bend it to get it to fit but after thinking it over I decided shortening it to the proper length would work better. No bends, I cut a section out and welded it back together. I don't have any current pics of the full setup but these should give you an idea. You may need to play with the trans linkage position, just make sure you start out with the column and trans in park.

I Endend up going the junk yard and grabbing a stock 70's chevy C10 pick-up truck shift linkage. it was probably for a turbo 350 and all i have to do is trim the bottom of the rod as because it was in a truck is so long and it fit like a glove and went through all gears!!!!

luckily...
