The brakes are the factory hydroboost brakes tied into the factory PS rack. Using a converted GM pump and it's all complete and ready for use now.

The clutch may be a different story. I've got all the F body pedals and hydraulics, hopefully can come up with something
You can use stock Mustang pedal assembly which allows the use of all the stock components like starter safety switch, cruise control vacuum cut out and brake light switch. Easy to modify to hydraulic and eliminate cable operation, oh, and it fits the car well.. I did mine to use T56 using a Pontiac Fiero clutch M/C and a couple hrs. of work. feel free to PM me if you would like the tutorial..

Any more progress on this? That LSx sitting in that engine bay looks like it was meant to be there. On a side note, are you going to de-badge the car? I think it would look killer if you had emblempros come up with some custom badges for the car.

I don't have pics right now, but I've pulled the motor out and am selling the longblock. Will still be LS powered, just building another motor.

For now the badges will stay, haven't really looked into anything else.

Leaning towards a 370 but still weighing my options. Will be forged bottom end regardless. This will slow the build down a bit but is a better choice long-term.

Can't go wrong with a 370, but you could also get into the 400's ci too. Sounds like a nice problem to have making that decision.

Just a little update I guess. Although not much of one

Going to do what I can do without a motor. Finish the fuel system, install the holley and wire up 90% of the car. Clutch hydraulics can be done.

Really all that's left from the old motor. Going to sell this hopefully. Otherwise it's destined to become a coffee table

Leaves me with a workbench full of parts. Most will be be cleaned up, painted and reused. Think I'm going to get some of it hydrodipped also.

The motor will be decided on here in the next few weeks

I myself will be getting whatever aftermarket intake I get hydrodipped. A guy local to me does it and his work is really nice.

Nice progress so far but to be honest this is a bit confusing. Why go through all the hassle of swapping the car to basically make what a stock Cobra plus a Whipple is? Don't get me wrong, I love swapping stuff as I have a 5.3 Fox body myself and am in the process of swapping a friends 02 GT. I assume you bought this as a roller and didn't have the engine to start with. It just seems so much more expensive and time consuming to go this route. Just asking questions not hating.

Car was bought as a roller. PD blower plan has already been axed as well as the Ls1. Building a forged iron block. People have gotten 800-1000hp out of 4v mod motors so the "could have gotten that power out of the ford" argument will always be there. I don't care. I like pushrod power, I like LS motors. I can afford to do it. That's all the justification I need personally.
The roller was pretty expensive, but fit what I was after perfectly.
Everyone has their opinions of it and I can respect that entirely. I knew it would be a bit "controversial" but at the end of the day it's parked in my garage and I get to enjoy my ideal car.

Cobra looks great...I'm doing a 96 Cobra with a 408 LS motor,,
Question will the Factory cobra gauge cluster be fully functional?? what needs to be done? my 96 has the 2004 cobra entire wiring in the car done as well with the 04 cobra gauge cluster..

Thanks

I've got 2 ideas. Spend a lot of time making the stock gauges work. Or spend a lot of money adapting a racepak (don't think they've got an HP adapter yet). I know I can make the gauges work, it's just going to take some research and some thought. The tach, temp, oil, etc will all be easy enough. The speedo may be a little more of a challenge.

That's what I did on my 98. Just would rather have a little cleaner look myself

Yeah, that may be the hardest part of the entire swap. If you know you can make the stock ones work, that would look best in my opinion.
