3 series BMW, FC rx7, 1st, 2nd, 3rd or any early v6 4th gen camaro (i would never swap an lt1 car lol), 240sx or 270z. i know you say car, but any pre-1999 chevy/gmc rcsb 2wd pickup or an s10. those would be my first choices

2nd gen supra, 2800-3000 lb. Independent rear suspension, all wheel disk brakes, 8 way recaro seats come stock

1988 and older BMW 5 series, not much more than 3300 lbs full loaded, 4 door, can handle and stop really well with after market/ 7 series upgrades. They are very light but feel like their built like a tank when you drive them, just drove an 84 533i-loved it.

88-98 c1500, because my 1996 is getting an Ls one of these days.

Sorry about that. Too much typing for me to do all over again. I have done enough typing to BRP, Hedman, Georgia Governors office of Consumer Protection etc. AND I still am not done. LOL Rich

Nissan 240sx. There is a lot of aftermarket support for LS swaps. The cars weigh 25-2800lbs from the factory. The suspension is excellent, the rear end and axles can handle a fair bit of abuse.

My vote would be RX7, broke second gen's are cheap finds on Craigslist. I registered on this forum for this aspiration.

I'm also partial to g bodies, they're comfortable, have a good performance and restoration aftermarket, are pretty light for there size, and as long as you don't have your heart set on a SS, 442, or GN a rust free car can be bought for a pretty reasonable price. I'd ignore the 4th gen V6 suggestions you can buy a LS1 f body cheaper that you can build one from a V6.

I also agree with the plan of buying any car that there are Hooker/ Holley swap parts for, they are some of the best engineered parts out there.

The sn95 and even some newer Mustangs are VERY inexpensive as mentioned. Mine was 700.00 with a blown engine, excellent body and interior. Sold all the parts off and got it for almost free. You can use a factory 8.8 which is strong and cheap, all the Cobra stuff bolts on (like big brakes, wheels etc) and replacement parts in general are cheap. And there relatively light.

I personally think square body chevy's the 1973-1991 era are really easy to swap into because of the huge engine bay they have.

Big engine bay, came with a V8, super simple conversion and cheap as hell, these cars were on the cash for clunkers list so they were getting crushed at a torrid pace, I had someone offer me one for free but it was full of rubbish and had no paperwork so I passed (V6er) Free is cheap.

LOL....why Holley? I guess if you like to pay more than go ahead. There are plenty of swap options for a G body that work other than the Holley set up. Although Holley does have a complete line of parts for the G body they are late to the show. LS swaps have been done for several years with a lot of aftermarket support.

Quote from Gbodyforum.com

"Using 1" set back mounts like Dirty Dingo and those available on Ebay, stock truck accessories will clear a g-body hood if you use the 105 amp alternator. Some of the power steering pump pulleys will not clear the g-body steering box. You can swap the pulley out for a smaller one. Pulleys are available at your local parts store under the doorman brand name. F-body accessories will also work, and give more hood clearance, but are hard to find in the yards. When you do find a set, they usually want quite a bit for them."

Then you can enjoy your 6* u joint angles, reduced hood, trans tunnel, and AC box clearance, denting and/ or cutting f body headers to fit, and countless other headaches caused buy having to mix and match different companies parts that don't always want to work together. But I guess you'll save $350, so that'll make up for the extra work, and crappy driveline angles.

Go for something out of the norm, say for example a C.O.E. Not really a hard swap, but reference swaps are non existent. On the flip side you will stand out at an LS meet.
