Yeah that's a good option. They are literally worthless now. I bought my 90 for $600 running

I've got several ideas in my head but nothing solid. My dream swap is an LSX into a 240z but it'll be a while before I can afford that. What I'm looking for is a quick, easy and cheap swap into a smaller car if there is a such thing. As in swap out engine, tranny, driveshaft, harness, k member, tranny mounts, etc. Without having to swap in a new fuel tank, steering rack, and all kinds of miscellaneous things. Maybe I'm just dreaming but I've never done a swap before and would love to do one.

A C4 Corvette you can find cheap, and it's easy to wire for the LS ecm

Maybe the early C4s but they are usually a fiberglass mess because they were owned by Coke heads. Later C4s are very close to C5 money for some reason

That car looks gorgeous compared to a 78 Monte. I challenge any and all to find a photo of a good looking 78 Monte Carlo. They looked goofy brand new and they only get worse with age. To look even remotely cool, you MUST replace both bumpers with something custom.

They are pretty ugly...but they can be greatly improved.

Better, but even that one looks like the hot rod equivalent of a Geraldo Rivera selfie.

Guess I should've added "lightweight" to part of the criteria at the beginning.

Might have been said before, but the 240sx is an easy swap, uses factory k member and rack, shifter location is almost where it would be stock, various swap kits available, I went with sikky, you can cut cost by using a gto oil pan instead of sikky's custom pan, swap headers, power steering line, a/c lines are available, so other than the exhaust there isn't any fab work needed, easier to work on a LS1 240 than a LS1 in a 4th gen Camaro, diff will handle some power, and its lightweight.

You need to define what is lightweight to you. G-bodies can be had near 3,000lbs. Fox bodies at 2,800lbs. Miatas...2,600lbs? These weights are with the swap mind you, and normal supporting mods.

You need to keep in mind chassis mods. You can get some older cars or something like a 240sx or miata or older rx7, but if you ever decide to make some big power, things like bolt in rear ends to handle it aren't as readily available as cars like SN95s, camaros, etc.

Thought I had already pointed weight out but guess not. Looking for <3000 lbs. An LSX Miata would be way out of my price range. I'm really leaning towards a 90-93 Fox or a 92-94 240sx. I don't care if it's been done a million times or not. But I'd like a cheap & easy swap with a good power to weight ratio.

Sounds like a fox is what you're looking for then. There's a reason they are a popular LSx swap.

That pretty much the only thing that would work?
