Default help with t56 angle in 70 chevelle ls3

Hi what is the best angle I need to put my t56, it's in a 70 chevelle ls3 with all stock rear end I checked the angle on the rear end with angle finder and it's at 0 degrees, what should I put the rear of my t56 at I have it in the car now with trans tunnel cut and a Jack I just need to get it at the correct angle to mount the cross member, I don't want any vibration. Can you guys help me out. I jacked the rear of the trans up as high as I could get it to where the long tube headers are almost touching the floor under the car. I'm useing holly mounts and stock motor mounts. I just purchased energy mount plates and energy motor mounts and that should drop the front of the motor down in the front about a half of a inch. With the mounts I have in there now the holley and the stock motor mounts when I Jack the trans to where the headers have just enough room where there not hitting my angle Is 5 degrees. Help me out I'm trying to get the correct working angle and mount my crossmember.
Thanks guys.

Do you plan to lower the car? If so, place the back of the transmission as high as possible without having problems with headers.

Default lower car

The car has tubular a arms and it's supposed to drop the front a inch and half when I put the trans as high it will go to clear headers I'm at 5degrees angle. Is that going to cause vibration

The angle of the trans relative to the frame is irrelevant. What is ultimately important are the angle between the output shaft of the trans and the driveshaft, as well as, the angle between the driveshaft and the pinion gear. Those are called the operating angles. In stock form, the angle of the engine was 3-4 degrees relative to the frame.

The front and rear operating angles must be equal and opposite as was shown in the picture. In other words, the transmission output shaft and the pinion shaft need to be parallel. Also, the operating angles should be less than 3 degrees.

Is your rear on jack stands or is it supporting its own weight? You want the car supporting itself when taking the measurements. With the LS swap you will more then likely have to replace a pair of control arms so you can adjust your rear end angle to match the trans angle.

Default yes supported by its own

No Jack stands so basically if my trans has a -3 degrees angle at the output shaft then the rear end yoke/pinion should have a +3 degree angle. Am I correct. If so then now I think I understand and upper adjustable control arms will get me +3 degrees and yoke/pinion.
