I. DROVE. MY. CHEVELLE. TODAY!!! So happy. A couple things to still button up, but the first test drive went well. I have no exhaust, so it sounds like you're doing 150MPH when you're going 30. The car wanders a bit, but I need an alignment. Brakes are great. Engine seems a little lopey, but no backpressure with no exhaust. Main power cable from battery to starter is getting a little wanm...not sure if that's normal. Rear view mirror needs tightening. A bunch of little stuff, but the major things seem ok. Should get it home next week to finalize it and then drive it out to find the gremlins.

Where's the driveway pics? Only got one partial shot of 'finished' paint.

Got the rear wheels in and installed:

315s look awesome:

Exhaust and cutouts in:

Now, all that's left is to wait for the front wheels (should be here this week), align it, put the trunk interior back in, tune the stereo and work out all the gremlins. I drove it around the neighborhood this weekend and it felt pretty good. No hard pulls yet...

Agreed. Unfortunately, I haven't even had any full throttle pulls yet. Still breaking everything in and listening for gremlins

Rocket Racing Track Attack. I was originally going to do a forged 3 piece, but the price of these are great and I could get them in the right offest and width (11")

MagnaFlow and 2.5". Sounds nice and deep without too much drone. Although I still haven't been on the freeway to really test the drone. Quick Time cutouts

Thanks, Do you recall what offset you used on the front?

5.5" backspace. 245/40/18 tire. I had to "massage" the passenger inner fenderwell a bit. At full lock turned right it still rubs at the back of the tire a little.

I would only warn you that I am using Ridetech upper and lower control arms, coilovers, and Baer brakes. That may change things. Best to be safe and measure yours once your suspension is done to get correct offset.

Thanks, I have that exact same setup, also ridetech R-coil overs. My concern there is using a stock type gas tank as I have the Holley/Hooker complete exhaust utilizing 3" pipes
and may need a notched tank. I have to do a better search to see if that's true.

Don't think I can help with that. I got so fed up waiting for Holley on the headers that I went with Sanderson. Then I had someone just build the exhaust for me around my TanksInc tank. My issue was the frame mods and massive rollers in the back. It was tough to snake the exhaust over the 9" rear. The shop that I had do the frame mods, paint and some of the mechanical tried using Holley 3" on a big block 70 and it was a NIGHTMARE

It's been a LONG road (~7 years), but the beast is just about finished. I pick up the license plate tomorrow and I'm sure there will be some gremlins, but I 'm excited to put some miles on. HUGE Thanks to Jason and Brett at Forge Customs (LINK) in Leander, TX for the paint, body, frame mods and a fair amount of the mechanical.
