The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
Thank you sir!
Co grays on the trophies as well! Well deserved!
2nd show - another win. Roughly 200 cars (all different styles/eras/genres) and we took the top honors for Best Classic. After they called Best Chevy and my name wasn't called, I assumed I was out. Great surprise:
Also saw a '67 that is very similar to mine in a parking lot the day before the show. Really nice guy:
Unfortunately, the day of the show ended up not being great. As I was headed back, at a stop light I heard someone hollering. I assumed they were gonna give me a thumbs up or a "nice car". Instead they yelled out, "You're gushing gas!" I've had people behind me that says the car smells because they don't understand the whole no catalytic converters thing, but I figured I should pull over. As I started into a parking lot, I looked in the mirror and saw a trail of gas. I pulled up and stopped. After shutting it off, I went to the back and there was a huge pile of gas. It seems to be coming out of the vent for the II MUCH fuel vent. The bronze sintered filter was no longer on the AN fitting. As I slowly opened the fuel cap, it was pressurized (or vacuum-ized) and air came rushing out. Had to call a flatbed to get it back to the house. I did just fill up the tank the day before.
Any ideas on what it could be? Or best place to start? I assume I need to check the vent hoses from the tank to the fuel vent as a start.
