That set up is going to over heat the engine. Just buy the loop hose if you aren't going to use heat

How will it cause overheating? Honestly wondering not trying to sound rude. did my homework before doing something like this and from what I read it wouldn't cause any problems. If I did the loop, small quantities of coolant would bypass the thermostat before it opened allowing coolant to flow, not allowing it to get up to the correct temperature and the thermostat would open much later because the coolant would get cooled down as it flowed, whether in small quantities or not.

It's cool bro. I blocked the lines off and she overheated like crazy. i just used this and it went back to normal with out changing anything else. Some people have luck others don't. I got this for like $10 on eBay and worked great.

You didn't happen to keep the heater box did you?
I have an 89 and ripped mine out years ago... debating on tossing it back in.

No sorry Tim, I donated mine to my buddy with a 90 Z28. Sorry about no updates on this... Sometime soon Cody and I will be taking apart the engine harness wire by wire to straighten the harness up and do a complete wire tuck. As we start this I will post pics for updates

I have updates! Haha. Cody and I worked on the car for a long while last night and opened up the holes where the A/C stuff used to be because that's where I'll be mounting my PCM and homemade fuse block/relay center. We're also doing a complete wire tuck so for that we are literally taking every wire out of the PCM connectors and marking them and then putting them on the engine, running the wires so you can't see them, and then we will be plugging them all back in in their respective locations. Here's some pictures of all of the work we did.
Here's the access hole we made for the PCM mounting. I'll be putting a piece of sheet metal in place of the giant hole and attach the PCM to that.

Here's the jumble of wire we started with

And here's most of the wires pulled out of the PCM plugs and each sensor circuit taped up individually so that there are no stray wires and they will be easier to hide

He is right . Thermostat needs flow from heater lines to open.

This pic shows coolant flow.

hmm okay thanks for that helpful picture Jimmy! I guess I'll have to find some way of putting those fittings back on and putting a hose on. I'm sorry to the other users that I did not believe on that! That is my mistake.

And I got some stuff done on the car too haha. I ordered my springs and pushrods and my springs should come in today. Also don't know if any of you have seen this done but anyone wanting to do a truck intake (I'm only using it temporarily until I can save up for a Holley Hi-Ram) I did a truck intake shave where I take off all of the plastic bullsh!t off and then fill all of the holes with the plastic (which is called plastic welding. It's a pretty cool concept. You take the stuff you shave off and pretty much use a soldering iron and melt the plastic to hold against the intake and then you sand it all down after you're done. There's a YouTube video for a truck intake shave. If you don't know about plastic welding you should look that video up. It's REALLY cool) that I took off lol then bondo and paint. Here's some pics of the progression of that.
Here's how it starts obviously (like every other truck intake):

Then you shave it all off (I used a mixture of an angle grinder, sawzall, an air grinder with a cookie) and it'll look like this:

Then after my FIRST ever experience with bondo (it turned out atrociously terrible but good enough for the girls I go out with lol) and then I used semi-gloss black paint and it looked like this for the end product:
