Default 89 Supra conversion

Well we are starting our project, and with help we will try to get this done. This is my son's car and after his motor went south we decided to go with something not as hard to find parts as with JDM. We are both novices at this, so try not to be too hard on us as we progress and ask a million questions. Here are the starting pics. We pulled everything minus the power steering box. Our motor is a 5.3 out of a 2002 suburban.

1st question: We are buying the LS1 complete fuel delivery kit from speedway, as his Walbro 250 does not have enough PSI to run this motor. Is there something beter/ cheaper? or is this a good setup for daily driver mode.

These are our CXRacing motor mounts, and we will be mounting them today.

The engine came with a full wiring harness/ fuse panel and ECM. We are looking for a transmission as we speak, but is it better to mount the tranny to the engine first then put them in together, or just get the engine in then add the tranny later? The motor originally came with a 4l60E, but will the 65E bolt up with no issues?

Default Power steering question

I looked on the forum and found Bob H's input on Chevy power steering PSI

"Last is the Trucks:

All varied a little. For pretty much every 2000-2009 1500 or 2500 type truck/SUV,(Caddy, Chevy, GMC, etc), they followed this general guidelines:

4.7/s 5.3's, 6.0's:
~ 3.0-3.5+ GPM(some 2500's and later high end models like the Escalade were 3.5-3.9)
All were mostly 1425-1525 psi. The older,(2000 era) 2500 series were 1350-1450psi and the 1500's were 1450-1550."

The Supra has Progressive speed-based power steering which averages 1250, will the Chevy power steering pump be too much?

There are kits to reduce the pressure. I have one for my swap but I can't recall at the moment who sells it.

Default Power steering pressure

Contacted a local shop and he is going to reduce the shims to lower the Chevy psi to what I need, will be reinstalling that when done.

Default Bolt sizes

OK we now have everything bolted up.

Motor mounts to block took 8 - 10x1.5x20
Starter took 2 - 10x1.5x113
A/C compressor 1 - 10x1.5x30
3 - 10x1.5x60 (look a little short) will try 70mm tomorrow)

we used 10.9 and 12.9 bolts.

Default doing something similar

I am actually working with a S13 240sx hatch. I currently have a LC9 out of a 2006-2007 Yukon it was given to me by a friend who owns a garage. I was told this motor requires a DBW throttle body and I wouldn't be able to easily convert it to a DBC. On your supra build what type of throttle body are you going to use? I read on several threads and forums you can use certain ECU's and have it tuned/flash but I also hear some people say its not possible without a lingenfelter TRG-002 converter but some say those don't have great reliability. So now I want to see what you plan on using unless someone can lead me in the right direction as I am a newbie to domestics.

I would suggest you get those mounts on the motor as soon as to can to make sure it fits in the car. I'm doing the same swap in an '88 and my mounts do not fit right at all. I bought the same cxracing mounts.

And I thought I was alone swapping an mk3! I've got the cx racing mounts also but ill be building my own mount for the t56 magnum with a twin turbo 4.8 in front of it =) ill definitely be following your build
