wiring up 5.3 in 1974 c10
I have a 5.3 4l60e swap in my 74 c10. I have my standalone harness. It also has ac installed even though the truck didn't come with ac. Now my question is what do with the stock engine harness? The only thing I haven't hooked up yet are the grounds constant and battery lead. Now do I splice into my stock harness or is there another route to go?

In my C10 here is what I did...
I had my LS1 in my '69 C10 but used a PSI standalone harness. From the PSI harness I was able to tap into a 12 volt power wire on my stock harness (I connected at the ignition switch). I also needed a wire from the S term on the starter.
Not sure if this helps or not but hope so.
Best of luck with the project.

I used the stock S wire on starter, original on/off key altenator I used it for 12 volt ignition source in stand alone harness for power. Original HEI i used for key on/run wiring 12volt source. For back of altenator I took it to starter battery post to hide it. It charges battery then using battery cable. Everything seems to work ok.

Ok larkman! I think I have the idea. Do you have a pic of how u have the alt ran to the battery? I want it to be neat because I have some great looking valve covers and I don't want wires all over the place lol. The wire harness is enough

what I done with my altenator wire was to run from back of altenator to starter battery post. Since battery goes to starter it charges. wire stuffed in harness all hidden.
