2007 Miata LS1/4L60 Comp Rear Mount oilless Turbo
I am building a 2007 Miata NC with an LS1 and 4L60 out of a 99 camaro. I did a build thread over at v8Miata.net but figured I would post it here also.
Major Components:
99 LS1 with forged rods and Pistons, ported heads
Comp turbo cam, good springs, pushrods, lifters, trunion kit
4l60 transmission with PTC 9.5" lockup converter
Holley dominator EFI with the new 7" screen to use as gauges
V8R mounting kit
V8R Radiator
Cobra 8.8 rear diff with 3.55 gears
7479 Comp t4 turbo
Olhins coil overs
17x9 RPF1 wheels and 245 tires.
DSS axles
Comments are very welcome. I want to make this thing drive very well, have about 750 RWHP on good gas and aggressive tune, around 5-550 on conservative tune, air conditioner, and get reasonable gas mileage.

I had to modify the transmission crossmember a little for the speed sensor.
The engine and transmission fit better that I figured it would...
This thing has TONS of room between the engine and firewall in the center. It is only tight on the sides. I figured it would be a good place to hide some stuff.
A brake proportioning valve to get rid of ABS.

Lizard Skin CI
Modified the factory shifter.
Decided to use the Holley manifolds. Didnt want to worry about leaks...
I put dual 255's in the tank
Axles
Rear end modified
Transmission Cooler mounted
Turbo Showed up
Intercooler Mounted
Turbo Wastegate and Muffler

Reasonable gas mileage says that it's a street car, 4L60 says it's a dragster & the IRS is confused 'cuz it's not sure, lol.
Joking aside, if you are truly interested in "this thing driving well," plan for it by building it correctly. IDK much about wheel well clearance on an NC, but, turn the rear wheels into @ least 17x10 or even wider & put the tallest/widest tire (patch) to pavement, even if this means fender work. 245's on the front is reasonable, but would go w/ more if possible. Absolutely plan to buy r compound tires. Wheel spacers can be a good friend if wheel offset becomes an issue.
It's good to see an NC build.

I am probably going to end up with some type of 275 rear tire. I don't mind doing whatever to put a decent tire on the car. To get it running, I am going to keep the 245's on the 17X9 wheels I have now. After that, I'll need to get the springs figured out.

OK... I need an opinion. That holley dash is fairly big and I didn't think I would have room for anything other than that when I mounted it. Looks like I could put two 2 1/16" gauges in there. One on each side. That dash is going to show me everything I "need" to see but I wouldn't mind having two regular gauges in there also. Thought about doing a fuel level and something else... What you think?

Initial thought on that trans mount was that it's big & heavy. After seeing how well it hugs the trans & the room it creates for intake/exhaust tube routing, really like it. That's pretty clever. Build looks great.

Thanks 450. That mount came from V8 roadsters but was setup for a 6 speed manual transmission. I had to modify it to work but it does fit nice.
I also ordered a couple gauges to go beside the display I put in for a dash.

I used to own a 1st gen miata several years back. It had the little 1.6 with a aerodyne turbo and kit made by cartech, that car was a handful with probably 165 whp, I can only imagine what an animal this car is gonna be.
