Default 4L60E Park Neutral Signal wiring, AGAIN.

Curious to know how this was handled by others with 4l60E's. (the wire that tells the PCM if the car P or N). I'm using a stock Camaro floor shifter and wonder if I can wire this to the switch on the side, or the plunger looking thing toward the front, or if I need to put the OE switch on the outside of the trans at the shift linkage. OR if there is a better solution.

Thanks!

What pcm & O.S are you using? Only the trucks need the PRNDL switch on the driver's side of the trans. I used a 2002 Camaro A4 tune file in a 411 PCM for the 4L60E trans/LS3 1968 Chevelle that I posted about. I just used the stock neutral switch for the starter & back-up lights. The Camaro PCM looks at the pressure switch inside the trans to determine what gear the trans is in.

I'm using a 99 T/A PCM. The car starts fine and runs great. It also goes through the gears ok, but it's still on stands.

So the only reason I may need the PRNDL switch is for back up lights? If that's the case I can continue to use the Dakota Digital gear indicator that has outputs for the reverse lights.

Also the PSI instructions show this wire as optional. Is this only in the case of using a manual trans?

What vehicle is this? Like I said, just use the stock neutral/back up light switch. An F-Body OS doesn't need anything other than the pressure switch inside the trans.

Car is a 75 280Z.

Got it covered. I cut the stock PRNDL switch off the Camaro floor shifter 'cause I thought I was smart (and saving room). BUT I'm using the Dakota Digital gear indicator indicator sending unit with digital gear display and it has a port for the wire in question AND the back up lights. Thanks for the help!
