Default Any experience with this radiator ?

I am trying to find a good swap radiator for my S10. Ive seen everything from Vette radiators to $1000.00 aluminum setups. I like the Aftermarket radiator and this one looks like it would work fine. I just know nothing about their stuff, if its any good or not. Good price at 399.00 complete with fans. Its a single pass. I do prefer the double pass, but again, the price is good.

I know CP has a nice setup but its 840.00 with fans. But its twice the cost.

My $0.02, ignore the fan cfm rating, find the amperage draw of the fans. Probably a better indication of cooling. If they're under 10 amps each, they're probably worthless.
OEM fans can pull around 30 amps each.

Just sent them a message asking that question. I think the radiator itself should work out fine.

It's probably alright, I think I would just go with the $100
C4 rad and the $40 junkyard Taurus fan setup...

I'm cheap, I guess. I went with a $109 plastic tank aluminum core radiator from Rock Auto + a junkyard fan from a 90s Bonneville (which doesn't even cover the whole radiator, but moves a LOT of air). Haven't even come close to overheating yet. If you're doing "show," then this won't be the approach for you. If you're looking at practicality and weight reduction, then this might be worth looking at.

He stated the amps were around 20. So it doesn't sound like he really knows. It should have been a straight up answer.

As for the plastic rads. Yea, I considered it, but being around racing all my life, I like the all Aluminum Radiators. I think they cool better. Don't really care about the look as much as the cooling. Plus the plan is for more hp later so the bigger radiator now should be able to handle the upgrade. I don't want to do this twice.

You can get a generic aluminum single or double pass from northern, griffin, etc. Might as well get the biggest that fits.
Then look for OEM chevy/ford/Chrysler dual fan/shroud that will fit. It will probably be cheaper and more reliable. Also, you can pick up a replacement at any parts store.

I have run a lot of Griffin and AFCO radiators. Like them a lot. But I would really like something that's already built to be a direct fit on this truck. Keeps my fab work down a little.

hey taxman20 you shook up the box of parts too hard its not stock OEM anymore. I get your drift but do to engine location positioning probably not as many drop in radiators as would be for sbc. things going well on it?

I know I know. LOL Yea its coming along. Wish I was a better wiring person. At least in the looks department. Drives me crazy to spend so much time trying to make it look clean. But its running. All I have left is the radiator, driveshaft and wheels and tires. Then I can install the bed, fuel cell and battery.

There's a rumor that we might have a cash buyer for our strip. I hope it happens soon. If it does, this motor and trany come back out for a real build fast. Would like to do a turbo setup and close to 1000hp. Gut this thing, cage and run in the very low 8's 1/4 mile. Or keep it to what I know and spray the hell out of it with a couple kits.

Oh i know. Its cheaper to buy a running race car. But i like to build them. And it will cost more for sure. Plus i didnt start this truck for.a street only ride. The track went away after i started so my plan changed a little. Now it may swing back.
