So I just bought this yesterday, should have it in a week or two.

Iron 6.0 LQ4 with fresh rebuild. New rod and main bearings, ARP rod and head bolts, all new gaskets
LSA heads, new springs and retainers. 5 angle valve job, and decked.
LSA Supercharger with solid isolator, stock Lid
LS9 62lb injectors
Olsen Machine Pulley adapter kit to run LS1 accessories with the blower.
Olsen Machine Fuel Rails

Should go nice with my V2.

Thumbs down

By the way, don't buy anything from m1a2drvr aka Charles Evanchyk aka Charlie Jones aka Central Florida Motorsports aka Modern Muscle Car Parts out of Orlando, Florida

So let's talk wiring. I've done about 1000 searches of various combinations and can't find a solid answer. With an lq4 with the lsa top end, is it possible to use a cable throttle body or must you go dfw?

If dbw, must the tb, gas pedal and tac module all match? I can get a stock lsa throttle body out of a ctsv easy enough but need to know if I need a matching pedal and tac module to go with it.

If I use a cable tb, I assume there will be some tuning issues due to the iac and tps? Am I missing anything

Motor is shipping to me on Thursday, so I should have it early next week.

Feel like I'm talking to myself here but after talking to a few people it looks like DBC is the way to go. Still need to talk to a tuner to get their opinion on things as well.

I've got a call into Carl at Vaporworx to try and figure out a fuel system for this thing as well. Not looking for anything crazy, but I want reliable so I'll probably take whatever his recommendations are.

Give Hector a call at Ricks Tanks they have some nice fuel systems as well and they have a lower cost alternative called resto-mod for first gen camaros that use the camaro 5th gen fuel pump modules.

Thanks. I was actually looking at them last night. Seems they have a nice and somewhat reasonably priced tank. It can be had with a modified CTSV fuel pump, fuel level sensor, harness, etc for a little under $1100. I'd really like to hear from someone who's actually used one of these before though before dropping that kind of coin on a gas tank/fuel pump, especially in a boosted application.

Unless something changes it look like I'm going to go with a Ricks restomod tank with the ZL1 pump and a Vaporworx unit, seems to be the way to go.

Search some threads by Kwhizz he installed a Ricks Tank with the PWM module in his 66 impala with a ls2 and a Edelbrock supercharger.

Also a thread by alocker he installed a Ricks Tank with the PWM module, with twin zl1 or ctsv (can't remember which) pumps in his 68 Impala

Anything forced induction the Ricks Tank with the ctsv or zl1 modules and PWM is the way to go.

Thanks. Ive already read pretty much every thread the mentions lsa, vaporworx or pwm.

I research things for months before actually ordering anything. Just how I work. I also dont have the money to buy the wrong thing so I like to plan things out before ordering them. This is already going to cost about 2-3x what I thought it would.

Looks like a nice start. Now PLEASE stop using such small pics. If you are using Photobucket try some other options they offer. I don't post pics through them enough to remember what I use, so I try them all and use the biggest.

Please do the same. LOL

Not sure what you're getting at. Click the pics and they show full size.

I hear ya, I do the same as I hate buying something, then the next day I see the same part somewhere else at a much better price. I did my swap in 2008-2009 and there wasn't many options for swap parts back then. I am still updating my swap, back then the oil pan options were the hummer lh8 pan or modified f body pan. Now the swaps are truly bolt-in, back then it was one off custom or use the grinder, big hammer and welder.

On the photobucket there is an option on the photos, I think it it the "img" link that puts the photos full size in your post without having to click on the photo. Hope that makes sense.

Nice. I am also looking at a similar motor setup in my Chevelle when I finally take it off the road for restoration

That is going to be a fun motor. I was originally going to post that I think your planned expenses are on the low side (by a lot), but it sounds like you have already figured that out. What trans are you going to go with?

I am in the planning and parts collection phase of my LS 402 1969 Camaro build. Like you, I have already pulled out the 327ci / Muncie. It would be fun to have a LSA motor, but I got a brand new forged 402 AFR head cathedral port long block for a very fair price off another forum. I have the major items in an Excel spreadsheet, and the total at the bottom is a pretty big number. I am still adding smaller items like bolts and fasteners as I go. Even those small items add up to a few hundred dollars at the end of the project. My project is going to take a few years to complete.

As you probably know by now, Holley has a pretty good sale every December. I am going to buy a few of the swap parts before the sale ends on the 31st.

I've got a T56 I'm going to use. Will need to figure out a clutch that will reliably hold 550hp or so. My rear is also going to be on borrowed time once this thing gets running but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

My estimated cost has gone up substantially since I've got a boosted motor now. Clutch will need to hold more hp, fuel system will need to be better, etc. I also didn't include the 3k I have into the new subframe as well. That really doesn't count as far as swap expenses go, but it still wasn't free.

I've already got someone who wants my muncie swap so that will recoup some money as soon as I get it out.

I am planning on 525-550 whp, which is outside of the range of the LS7 set up. I am planning on going with the McLeod RST.

I was able to sell my M20 and most of my parts to a single gentleman to help pay for my T56. I was able to pick mine up off this forum a few months ago. I've been trying to buy things as they pop up used, but certain items I feel I am better off buying new.
