Community consensus for universal air intake kit
2007 LY6 going into 97 Volvo V90. Truck intake will remain until I am happy with how everything else works, at which point I will look into converting everything to fit an aftermarket car intake/TB.
At this point, I'm planning on doing boring & generic intake plumbing until the better intake manifold/TB are ready to go when I can do a better job of matching everything up.
Is there a basic kit that includes universal bends, piping, and a filter that everyone seems to agree is acceptable? I don't care about the looks at this point since the flash and appeal will come later. The amount of universal kits internet searches return is overwhelming and I'm hoping some of you can help narrow the possible list down based on real-world experience.
TIA

I have been known to use cheap e-bay reuseable cone filters and schedule 20 4" pvc pipe/elbows to make intakes. Paint it with black plastic paint when your done and it almost blends in. Plus the plastic does not transfer the engine compartment heat as much as aluminum intake tubing.

Take some measurements, go on the Spectre website to identify the part numbers you need and then go on Amazon to get the best price. I pieced mine together for about $150 that way.

I built my own, as it's difficult to get anything specific from a vendor down here. The right angled hose came from a turbo vendor, and the polished stainless came from a pipe supplier. I had a bracket welded on the stainless for mounting, and the speed density sensor is mounted under the stainless.
I made an aperture with a hood to direct cold air (just seen in the picture) to the filter, as I couldn't easily mount the filter through the radiator side panel, which would have been the optimum.
