Default 67 Skylark Convertible

Started on this a couple weeks ago and figured it was time to put it up here. 67 Buick Skylark Convertible, original 300 V8 with powerglide going with 5.3 LM7 and 4L60E swap.

That's some sweet interior!

Lovely, incorrect frame mounts welded to the crossmember.

Nice start, The brakes will make as much difference as powertrain. Cool looking intake.

Unfortunately the stock rims did not fit the rear so had to throw a set of 15" rims and tires that were laying around until she is driving and a new set get ordered. Thanks

Even Kevin's (the owner) son Logan wanted the hacked up interior out so bad he did it himself.

Nice looking rider. Kinda "pimp'in" interior though. LOL

I never understand when someone does things to these types of cars that does not improve anything in anyway, just makes everything worse all around.

Nice looking car. What oil pan did you go with? I had an aftermarket pan on mine with the engine set low my tie rod ends would hit the pan when trying to turn all the way.

It didn't take long to clear it all out. Looks like it was going to be one of those "donk" pieces of garbage… but we are rescuing it. lol

We just ordered a MAST LS Conversion pan..backordered for a week. We were going to modify a stock pan but this pan had all the measurements correct per their site.

We will update with pics as soon as we get it in.

Oil Pan,
You may want to look at the Holley 302-2 pan seems like it the way to go these days. My is a modified f body, cause that's all they had back then, so many more choices now.

The Mast pan is exactly to the dimensions I measured out with the engine mount adapters positioning the engine where it is. The Holley pan will still have issues with the inner tie rod hitting.

Cool, glad you found something that works, The Holley is 1.25 deep at the tie rod area and the mast looks like 1.71, My F body is 1.375 and it still took some work to get the RH inner tierod to just rub. Of course lots goes into this, engine height, drive line angle, steering parts and how far forward your engine is placed, no one answer for all swaps. I'm thinking about doing the Holley pan, my is really tight and if I stand on the brakes I can empty the pan and loose oil pressure for a few seconds. Holley pan has a baffle kit that is plug and play. I'm headed to Canada for a few weeks but if it is still in the shop when I return I may try to run over and take a look at your work.
