It is on the development list, but I can’t say when it will happen due to the amount of other development projects that are also on the list. If you are looking to get your hands on something before the end of the year, I don’t expect you’ll see something from us within that time frame.

Question, When you raised the front floor pan cross-member to account for the 4L80 and stock location mounts, what did you use to raise it. My idea is to cut the center section out of a new cross-member and splice it to raise the clearance height of the tail shaft and drive shaft, but since I am not a fabricator with years of experience figured you may have a better way.

I never actually notch the floors of borrowed vehicles. If a mock-up has interference between the floor tunnel and transmission case, I notch the transmission case to create the clearance I need to validate U-joint working angles and develop the transmission crossmember. Transmission cases are considered consumable items in the development process if need be.

I used the forward mounts and transmission crossmember that Holley sells and the 4L80E fit in my 70 Chevelle with just dimpling the floor pan some. No cutting necessary, I did have to use some banjo style fittings for the cooler lines on the transmission. There is a guy on Ebay that sells them specific for the 4L80E.

I used the BRP mount kit back in 2012 when I installed my LS in my 71 Conv a-body and I used the CTS-V oil pan. I'm currently planning on swapping the frame out this summer with a nicer frame and considering going with the complete holley set up (mounts, oil pan, crossmember) as I didn't like the higher position of the BRP mounts and my CTS-V pan is still a bit low. I'd like not to have to redo the drive shaft if I do that, so wondering if Todd can chime in with what the mount location is I need to buy (forward or stock)?

The Hooker Blackheart rear-bias engine mounting brackets place the engine/transmission mating plane in the stock SB Chevy location, so if that is where your BRP mounting brackets locate it, it should allow you to leave your driveshaft untouched.

That is a lot further back than the 1" forward mounts. I'd say that's close to the stock location, although the extra angle on the engine is making the clearance look smaller.
I can measure the distance on my 70 GTO with the Holley forward mounts, 302-3 pan, and Holley trans crossmember.

I am looking to do a LS swap into a 72 skylark that has a 350 / 350 turbo. I would like to purchase a 6.2 with overdrive with accessories. The car has factory AC and would like to leave the AC box alone. I do not mind upgrading the ac compressor. What complete take out would work the best with this A body? A 2012- 2020 Camaro, Surburban/ Denali, truck or corvette? With forward mounts what overdrive trans can I get away without cutting the trans tunnel? Am I going to have to purchase the trans separate to get everything to fit without cutting up the tunnel?
Thank you for any help in advance.

You're asking great questions, but sadly, there are no simple answers.
The only OEM accessories that work well in an A-body are the C5 and C6 Corvette accessories. And even then, the low AC compressor on the passenger side may require a special bracket to make it work, or you can do a high mount AC compressor on the passenger side. Both cases will require the use of the smaller Sanden compressor. So if you want a a 6.2L then you are looking at the LS3 from a C6 Corvette.
With the forward mounts both a 4L60 and a 4L80 will fit, provided the body bushings are in good shape. If they are sagging, this will impact the available space in the tunnel. If you want another transmission, the tunnel will need to be modified.
I hope this helps.

Not so fast and not so true. I'm running a 1999 truck LS 5.3 with the truck pulleys and water pump with the low mount passenger side AC compressor in a 70 El Camino A-body. No trouble at all on the passenger side at the frame and only minor trouble with the power steering pump on the drivers side at the steering box - I had to put a one inch smaller pulley on the pump from an S-10 truck.
It simply works . . . . and a 6.2 LS would fit equally well.
