95 4x4 4L60e behind 2001 5.3 (Making it Work)
To start off I have searched and searched this to death but I haven't found a solid answer on how to make this work.
As stated I have a 2001 5.3 in a 95 Chevy 4x4 truck with a 4l60e. I realize the easiest thing to do would be to buy a newer trans. But my trans was recently rebuilt so I opted to use it.
The two are already mated and in the truck. I left the original wiring hooked to the trans and it wouldn't shift. Which I expected. I hooked up the Ls harness to my trans and my truck wouldn't start due to the the plug on the left side having the starter wire.
I talked to Brendan from LT1swap.com and he told me my PCM can be tuned for my trans. Well that would be fine but if I do it that way and hook up my LS harness my PRND321 in my truck won't be illuminated and the truck won't start. And I have a feeling my cruise control won't work either.
So what is the real solution to this problem? If this is in the wrong section I apologize.
