Default oil pan

What would be the best stock oil pan to use on a swap? I am not looking for clearance, im looking for fuction with out oil starvation problems. I have all the room in the world, and the crossmember can be trimmed if needed. Car will be mostly drag but driven to work on nice days. Looking for inexpensive. F body, lsa, ctsv?

If you are concerned about clearance to the ground any of those mentioned are reasonable. Truck pan is 3" deeper or so.
I like the Holley 302-2.
I'd engine has dod or vvt then you might want to find a stock one with the pressure relief. If you are in warm climate quite possibly the valve isn't necessary.

Without seeing your situation, late model C5 wetsump pan. I used it in my Rambler swap and the sump (4 3/4" deep) actually sits above the crossmember. This dwg shows 5", but it tapers down as you move forward...

Thank you, anyone can say "look at pan dimensions here". Any oil control issues?

I see you went back and edited your original post after a few replies. Glad we no longer need ESP to see what your primary concern was. Don't think "oil control" will be an issue with any factory pan on on a street car with a few occasional drags...

Have you looked at the GM 5 quart pan P/N 19212593? $150 at Summitt.

I've read a bunch of stuff on stock f body pans having oil issues on hard launches at the track. So this is why the thread was created. But I keep getting dimension replies. Maybe I should try the drag section.

Look up "Coleman Roddy", a friend just saw him run an 8.64 with a 1.17 60 ft time (at Evadale, TX) in a normally aspirated Gen IV F-body...

As stated above I don't think you will have any oiling issues with any rear sump pan. Not sure what you've heard about the F body, but I've seen some damn fast F body cars and cars using f body pans with no issues at all.

They wouldn't sell baffles if oil pans didn't have oil problems.

Guess you ought to nut up and go dry-sump, that way you won't be worrying about it...
