OUSCI '84 Cutlass "Determination"
Do I miss ROP? Sometimes I do, but the pissing matches and narrow-mindedness got old so it was time to move on.
Best and thanks for the compliments!
Dave
Its probably a lot different now since the modern Hemi is much more prevalent but I'll stick to what I know...haha...I'm broke enough as it is!
Quick rundown:
- I got 2" lowering springs from UMI,
- completed most of the underhood wiring (couple hiccups there which I'll explain in more detail)
- found and am restoring an original non-AC heater box from a '78 Cutlass and purchased all the crap to make that work.
- bought a butt load of awesome gauges (Speedhut) and will make my own gauge bezel, think I have 11 total gauges!!!!
- purchased shifter
- started front end assembly (suspension and brakes)
- stripped the threads in the head to mount one of the header bolts (do this at least once in every friggin build without fail)
- struggling on final decision for seats...I'm a beefy guy and the seats I really want that are perfect for the car might be a little too narrow. Now I know I could lose weight and solve that problem...lol...but would rather work on the car in the garage until 1am every morning and sip a frothy beverage until I can drive the car first...btw those seats are from Cipher Auto Euro Racing seats. They're affordable, leather/carbon fiber and maroon! Can get the tracks to match as well.
I'll try and get pics tomorrow night I promise! Thanks for the continued interest and sorry for the novel as usual!
Got a quick teaser...
Motor is basically done (wired and sensors):

Garage was a disaster from just throwing stuff in there - parts, kids toys, basement finishing equipment, etc...

Finally getting that under control!
Working front suspension and heating currently...yes you heard right, I acquired a '78 Cutlass "heat only" suitcase and am cleaning that up for install (pic to follow as that is a separate mini resto)
After a LOT of cleaning I got a bit of the driver side suspension on..,

Lucky for me my spring compressor broke on me just as I was about to install the driver's spring 🙄 ...can't buy a break...
Anyhow...a TON more to come!!!
Dave
Done header installation and am tying up loose ends at this point. Got a trans dipstick tube today that was terrible...just isn't going to work so I got a stubby one that will get the job done. A few more weeks and she'll fire...still need brakes and rear suspension completed along with exhaust but I feel like I am getting into the home stretch. Picked up a cheap Summit Racing heater for the car just in case I need it.
Here's the pics I have so far:

Some shots of the wiring interference near the starter:

Adjusted the route of critical wiring and am much happier with the clearance. Slow and steady...
EDIT: For some reason this site and my iPhone are not getting along so my apologies if some of the writing doesn't make sense...kept chopping sentences.
Here's the rest of the pics with updated wire routing...links don't want to work right.

I've really gotten into making YouTube videos and while I am currently one of the many that have too few followers to monetize, its DAMN fun and have made a lot of friends doing it. Enjoy spreading info to folks who are looking for help!
I have embedded a link to my videos:

I plan to have the Cutlass up and running by the summer, take look at my page for some updates - suspension, engine, etc...unfortunately a few too many life events have derailed progress over the last year but we're back up and truckin'!
Best and enjoy!!!
