Default "Tanks" in tank pump efi

Has anyone used this b4? Pros or cons?
http://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/pa...prod/prd84.htm

I want to put inside my stock new tank for 59 caddy but it's 13.5" deep. Says will work with 10" tank. Am I reading this wrong?

I personally would consider using an OEM gm fuel bucket and use the vetteworks kit. Use the 6.0 fuel bucket from the SS truck,
You may be able to grab a used truck tank, cut pump mount out and fab it into your caddy tank. That caddy looks like a cool project!

I have the B4 that I fabbed into their 55 Buick tank. I haven't run it yet so no use experience. I think the pump itself is a generic one that I see used a lot in swaps.

On the height/depth, Tanks has a recess "box" that you can weld in place and should get you a couple of inches maybe. It keeps the fittings below they top of the tank too. I only used about an inch of the box for my set up.

If you call tanks Inc, they will make you a deeper unit. I had one made 13" deep with an e85 walbro 450 pump for a jet boat fuel tank.

I have this setup in my car. It still runs out of fuel if it is under 1/2 tank and you stand on it or go around a corner fast. I followed the instructions to the letter, but the design doesn't really keep the fuel in the tray like you'd think because of the various bolt holes etc... I think if you welded he tray to the upright or somehow sealed everything to the upright, you'd be good.

this is excellent feedback. I have seen similar feedback/experience with the spectra tank. I see no way the little tanks inc reservoir holds enough fuel to NOT stall, spit or sputter. I think the idea of the tanks inc setup is great IF it had some type of container or bucket to hold fuel when the fuel level is below 1/2 tank. Who wants to go to the gas station every day?
It amazes me that people don't want to use the OEM fuel bucket that GM designed that engine to use... A fuel pump's life is extended when it doesn't suck air and is cooled (OEM bucket does this). The OEM bucket has a built in fuel pressure regulator (1 less item to buy).

Default Fuel pump

One thing good about using an OEM in tank pump is that if it takes a dump while on a trip there is a replacement right around the corner.

With the TANKS in tank pump I think the tray is as big as it can be and still fit into the tank.

I have run my Tanks Inc down to 2-3 gallons and my pressure never went below 55PSI.

Agreed. When my tanks, tank sputters, it's empty.

I wonder if the people that are having issues are using tanks that have the built in baffles?
