Default LM7 to TH400

I know this question has been asked probably a million times and there's tons of threads on this. But I am getting ready to swap in my LM7 and want to use the turbo 400 for now as I'm going to go to a T56 this summer. I just wanted to know what the best, cheapest and fastest way to do this is. I don't want to spend a bunch of money to only use it a couple of times. Just need to get it going until I have money for the T56. I've read about a spacer but I wasn't too sure. If someone could give me a quick rundown and what I should I get! Thanks.

If you use the Hooker 12618HKR engine brackets and 12626HKR crossmember it will allow you to install your LS/TH400 combination now and switch to the T56 later without having to buy another crossmember. You just have to use an available spacer (12650HKR) between the crossmember and the trans mount when installing the TH400 and then remove the spacer when you install the T56.

The distance from the bellhousing mating surface to the rear trans mount on a TH400 and 2004R is only 3/16" further back than it is on a 4th-gen F-body T56 or T56 Magnum transmission, so if a crossmember is designed appropriately with this in mind it can be used to mount them all. You will need a crank spacer as well for proper positioning of the flex plate.

Do you happen to have the part numbers on a crank spacer? Does it need longer bolts as well?

No I don't have a part number for the spacer, but they are available from various sources...I'm sure you can find one on Summit's website.
