Question How hard to Swap L33 in 05 Silverado w/ LH6 from 07 Sierra

Hi, I have a 2005 Silverado 1500 with a 5.3L 8th digit VIN is B = opt L33. I want to replace the L33 with an LH6 5.3L from a 2007 Sierra 1500 I have with 8th digit VIN is M = opt LH6.

Is the L33 is a Gen III engine and the LH6 is Gen IV ? What would need to be changed to use the LH6 ? Some have said to find another L33 donor engine because using the LH6 would introduce too many other changes (ECM, Transmission, knock senors, etc).

Looking for some input from those w/ experience in...thx

Edit: Just realized this is an old dead thread I stumbled up on by accident.

First thing that comes to mind is the LH6 has DOD (or AFM whichever you want to call it). You would need to do the DOD delete which would basically turn it into a Gen IV version of a Gen III L33 which may also lead to issues such as connectors and such. So, yeah, find another L33 which is the preferable engine anyway and save yourself some trouble.
