Default L92 in a85 SS Monte Carlo thinking about running e85

I have a l92 6'80e in a 85 Monte Carlo SS... Last thing needed is the Fuel.. was so wondering if a 340lp pump would be enough to run e85 engine is stock . what kind of fuel lines do u guys recommend and is it really worth it. Since I won't be having any power adder

IMO not worth it without higher compression or a power adder. E85 has fewer BTU by volume but much better octane. Unless you really need the octane I don't think it's worth it. Mileage will suck too if you care.

My .02 and I am going to be using E85 when I can find it on a forced induction vehicle.

Yes, the 340 pump will be fine.

However, I agree with BLKMGK. Stock gasoline engine with stock compression running naturally aspirated - not a good combination for power or efficiency. If you were forced induction or some sort of high (12 - 13:1 and up I'm told) compression it could have benefits.

I have a flex fuel sensor in one of my cars I've been playing with - but the car will be forced induction at a later date. I'm not trying to make crazy power, I always wanted a forced induction vehicle and I'm literally experimenting for my own knowledge and fun.

The 340 pump will get it done but it is way overkill for even a cammed L92 with a tune. The best way to set up a fuel system on a G body is with the GN . Monte 4.3 tank and a corvette regulator. Read up 340 pumps with use of the corvette regulator because others that have done it and ran into issues with fuel pressure being too high......Your L92 requires a single line to the fuel rail.

I agree with you L92 OLDS, however the question on the pump and accordingly my reply to 87luxsprt was in reference to running E85.

I have a Walbro 340 in my 1961 Impala with a Corvette filter / regulator feeding an LS3 and have no high fuel pressure issues. This combination is nearing 2400 miles since June 17th 2015.

Is the 340 overkill for the current setup? Yes.
Have I run E85 with the current setup? Yes.
Do I NEED to run E85 with this setup? No.

The setup will be changing shortly which is why I have the 340 and flex sensor.
