Help - Coolant flow problem.

Default Help - Coolant flow problem.
Ok, I put a LS engine (6.0 Truck) and I noticed that the lower radiator hose was not getting warm - I pulled it apart and noticed a paper towel that I had left in the water pump when I was glass beading it, Pulled it out, Re-assembled everything and figured I had it licked - Still no flow.

I pulled the water pump back off and tried flushing with a garden hose. I put the hose on the round hole on the engine block on the drivers side and it comes out the rectangular hole on that side and the same on the pass side so I don't believe there is a blockage there.

Does anyone have a water flow diagram for a LS block?

Any input appreciated.

There are several if you search. I found one in piratebay 4x4. You may have clogged the thermostat with paper towel as well. In a cold state, it should send coolant to the block.

What does your coolant temp register while you warm up? Does it level out or keep climbing even with fans on?

I took it apart again, Drilled a 1/8" hole in the t-stat and problem solved. Fans turn on at 206 and off at 196.

Just curious, You don't have the heater hose connections on the water pump blocked off do you?

No, Hooked up to heater heater core as original.Am I missing something? I believe the orig hose from the 6.0 had a "T" in it going back to the radiator. Both heater hosed were warm when the car is running.

The hole you drilled will do what you want but it would have simpler to take the top hose off and fill the engine side with coolant. .

I did that and it still didn't work. Not sure if I had a air bubble or what the heck happened. I'm really good at tearing it apart now.
