Default Throttle cable in an s10 help

I have literally an inch or so before the head hits the original throttle cable area. I can possibly move the cable up an inch or so but I cannot relocate it side to side at all. Does anyone have any ideas on a brand cable that doesn't mind being bent easily or any type of solution for this? Thanks guys!!

Do you have a picture? What motor mounts are you using? What year S10? What valve covers? I was able to fit a Lokar throttle cable on my 2000/LS1 with no concern for interference.

I used the stock cable on my 1996 s10 swap.

CPW poly mounts, factory truck valve covers. I am almost all the way back on the mounts. Truck and bagged and body dropped so nothing really fits like it should.

Body drop is what's causing the issue. I also have CPW poly mount all the way back and no issues with the cable. Knowing how the pedal on these mount I don't see a problem moving the mounting hole up.

Sounds like a question that belongs here in The Conversions section.

I have a stock cable on my 94 with a Camaro throttle bracket. Another guy I know has a stock 99 cable on his. I know the 99 cable is longer than my 94.

A full size 2000ish truck cable should slip right in place.

I ended up using a 4.3 cable and it worked out great. It was still a tight fit and has a crappy angle but it works and is smooth just like factory, not to mention it also locks right into the stock ls1 bracket.

I think a lot of you are missing that he has a body drop. That means the hole where the throttle cable comes through the firewall (part of the body) lowered closer to the motor (mounted on the frame). He has a throttle cable that will work, he's asking how to get it to clear the valve cover and coils.

I'd say your only option is to cut the hole higher and work it out, as mentioned before by another. Good luck, snap a picture if you get time.

Thanks bud, that's exactly what I was asking. I ended up using a stock 4.3 s10 throttle cable and routed it oddly but it works, full WOT and it rests back at idle.
