Default Direct wire Dakota Digital BIM-01-2?

Can I direct wire it to the ECM & not use the ALDL connector?

Yes you can. I believe Dakota may even have a write up on their installation documents about a direct wire.

Don't see why not. The instructions do not actually say you can. The cruise control instructions tell you how to wire it direct......I did not see that on the BIM in question, (and I looked).....give DD a buzz and see what they say...

Well bringing back an old thread I forgot about.

I tried removing the terminals from the ALDL connector in the car & solder wires to it for the DD module. When I did that I kept getting a check engine light & no throttle (DBW). So removed it & temporarily stuck the wires in the ALDL connector, it would work some, then throw check engine light. Is there a trick to connecting to these wires to get the signal?
