So played around with the electrical and error messages tonight and figured I would give the 26ohm resistor a try to see if the oil level indicator error would clear. Unfortantly does work on the 997 so I found a used Boxster senor for $20 and closed off the end of a leftover hose from my A/C and filled with oil. Seems to have worked, error message cleared and now is wanting to run a 60min oil level test. Will have to hookup the battery charger to see if I added to much oil. It was oozing out the top..

Traveling on business now so not much to update, I get back Friday and hope to knock out a couple things over Memorial Day weekend but I don't expect to starting her up for another month or so. I'm confident she will run but I have an endless list of **** to do with this car but getting closer. Good luck finding other 997 builds, I am pretty sure I am the 1st to post and not use RH kitted parts.

Funny, I have been pretty lucky in the past and have a lot of engineering resources within China so I get the top quality clones if there is such a thing
. I picked up a fully configured BMW DIS system for my M5 years ago and still works flawlessly. Also purchased couple C4 Mercedes diag tools for some friends with no complaints. Guess it all about who you know and can trust, but not like I am purchasing the fake Rolex, Beats and other garbage found around the markets. Might look into pursuing a PIWIS towards the end of the year.

Todd, can you share where you sourced the motor mounts? I am doing a 997s with ls3, hooked up with Eric at A&E so he will do the adapter and I plan on doing the same motor mount design as you

Dvee8, great to see another 997 join the forums. Eric's setup is great, complete with all the hardware, starter, adapter, clutch, bearing. You get a lot for the money spent. Regarding the mounts I fabricated everything myself with a die grinder and 4" cutting blade. Below are the links for all the aluminum pieces and rat rod mounts.

BTW, if you do the same go with a 3/4 or 1" round rod so that the 1.5" square bar has more clearance off the body. I only have less than 1/4" gap which probably won't cause any issue but if in the future the rat rod mount compresses or wears out I suppose the square bar could hit the body and have metal to metal rattle.

awesome, thanks Todd, yep just finishing up with Eric and trying to get all my ducks in a row. Kinda nice to be renegade free 😉. Hope you don't mind if I pick your brain in the future
